MMA is much more of a skilled sport than boxing.

Boxing is just a small part of MMA. While Boxers are still getting paid more we will see this decline as the sport as a whole has been declining while MMA has been rising in the ratings, popularity, and PPV sales for the last 7 years.

This is my first. It's more skilled because you learn the skill of boxing, plus wrestling, Muay Thai, BJJ, and other disciplines and how to use them all together. -

Sweet mother of jesus, why would you create this thread? This convo is always brought up every 2 weeks in the cheap seats and serves no purpose other than allowing posters to get lockjaw talkin ? up in here. Get ready for 5 pages of "blank" going saying "ufc stands for umbrella firefighter ? " and a bunch of other ? co-signing the coonery.
*Shakes his head and leaves in disgust.* -
Well I didn't know that sorry. I guess intelligent conversation is looked down on here.
-
I did however know that Blank is an idiot.

Damn... Cold World
So in your opinion 100+ years of rich boxing history = Down the drain since 20yrs ago when some ? decided hugging men on the ground for 'sport was better? -
*yawn*
...here we go with this ? again. The same delusional UFC fanatics trying to discredit boxing so they can compensate for lacking credibility.

I wouldn't agree. Random average joes and retired football players go to UFC and become champions or legit competitors. I'm not convinced someone could come from a random background and become a boxing champion. I dunno everyone's story though, so fill me in if it has happened.

Instead of just saying close the thread why don't you people try proving your points that MMA doesn't take more skills than boxing ? You won't prove ? if you just say that MMA is ? .
MMA is a complete sport , you won't survive for long if you don't have a good ground game or stand up but BJJ wrestlers tend to last long despite lack of striking skills since grappling takes much more and is more effective than striking. The ? Muhammad Ali couldn't even beat the ? Antonio Inoki and Inoki wasn't even allowed to use GnP or his wrestling or else he would've beaten Cassius Clay into a living death.
So any BJJ white belt could take on a boxing champion and defeat him , hell even a karate/taekwondo black belt can get his ass kicked by a BJJ noob the only striking martial art that can stand a chance against BJJ is Muay Thai.
James Toney entered the UFC and look how it's going for him.
MMA is the present and the future kids. -
And here we go......

Boxing champions wouldn't do much better than them since it's an open sport . -

for yall onionhead ? -
mma is more entertaining than boxing
boxing seems harder tho
gettin a knock only punching, not grappling, or kneeing or kicking would be hard
Defending all those kinds of strikes are much harder which is why MMA takes more skills than boxing. -
