which is the better basketball flick? normally i'd say he got game it's kinda one of my favorite movies. but i just watched above the rim for the first time since it came out back in the day. so today i'm going with above the rim. above the rim had one of the best soundtracks ever too.

    As a youngun I'd have went With Above the rim. It had it all: edgy street sense, Hard knocks B- ball, Pac and perhaps the best hip Hop soundtrack ever.
    Now as a grown man, a father and the coach I have to go with he got game.

    he got game is one of the best movies ever,let alone a basketball movie

    he got game is one of the only movies i ever got teary eyed on.
    that film was powerful.
    when jake got to hug jesus and jesus jus stand there all cold. not giving a ? that thats his father......man,that was a cold scene

    At one point Above the rim was my favorite movie growing up. You cant brush off 2PAC's performance as Birdie and the rest of the cast (R.I.P BERNIE MAC) like the movie itself didnt hold weight to he got game. To give credit to he got game I love the music score towards thee end when denzel is reading the letter in prison while his son is practicing shooting.

    He got game is the one.... Denzel was excellent in that film, that was Oscar worthy.

    Above the rim was cliched to death with bad acting. He Got Game is much deeper, more interesting and better acted movie. Denzel rocked that part.

    Soooo Ray Allen's acting wasn't ? ? The only one you mentioned was Denzel lol.

    I prefer Above the Rim and the plot,but Denzel carried He Got Game and is a much better actor than Pac.Damn watching that scene again when he knocked slim out made me remember how sinister Zel can be.He got this cool Billy D Williams vibe nh but there is this viciousness without seemingly losing his temper.ROFL @ how he started running down the block.

    Yeah Zel got that smooth ass charisma.That's why I like hi movies because he don't need no special effects,explosions or any type of sci fi or fantasy setting to shine.I ? with that movie he had with Russell Crowe though and he still was the driving force in that movie.I can't remember the name though.

    the street ball tournament with the people going crazy in the stands and all the alleyoops and ? plus the music that was playing during those scenes makes above the rim epic in its own right. The scene where ray allen is on the park bench arguing with rosario dawson was pretty weak when they broke up. i actually really like both films. but the part of the plot in he got game where denzel killed his wife was a lil odd. the whole movie's plot came from that one scene in a way. denzel shoves his wife and she hits her head on the stove and dies?? that's not the best plot ever written by any means. now the story that came out of that scene was great but that scene was hard to believe. she must hit the corner of the stove with her temple or some ? .
