As Black People were we spoiled with Great Black Films in the 90s???

I mean I just look back and remember all the great films of that decade. Almost all of my favorite films came out during the 90s. We don't get great movies anymore

    never got around to it, but heard Love and Basketball was good. Brown Sugar. think antwone fisher was good. but I might be misremembering.

    I watched Higher Learning couple months back on starz. damn! i forgot how good that movie was....& Menace is one of my alltime favs.

    Just got done watchin South Central last night on NetFlix..

    i dont know how this get overlooked as far as hood classics.. compared to Boyz N the Hood and Menace II Society..
    it captures the LA gang culture to a t.. even moreso then the aforementioned..

    I was a teen and early 20der. in the 90's. from 90-99 i was 14-23. I dont know if they were great movies because i was young and impressionable or were they really classics. since i grew up on them, they are classics to me. IMO. Did they win any oscar nods? not so much. how about golden globes or NAACP's? (image award nominations)
