Eagles released RB Brian Westbrook.

Westbrook, 31, was apparently not amenable to a major pay cut. Coach Andy Reid indicated that the move was made now as a courtesy "to maximize Brian's chances of landing with another NFL team." The Eagles certainly appear poised to turn the page and move on. Westbrook can still play effectively with a limited workload, but he's also the biggest injury risk in the league. He won't get more than a timeshare job on the open market.

So is this good or bad for the team & who thinks they might go after LT

Thomas Jones should have his fingers crossed. It is not good for 30 year old running backs.

Thomas Jones will be back as a Jet in 2010. As for Westbrook he will get another shot somewhere else in the league.

Thomas Jones is in his prime right now at 31, Westbrook has always been average

As long as he is okay with sitting behind Grenne.

I was thinking Clinton Portis may retire too, or be released
But after Ladell Betts retiring, he may stay after all.

Can't say i didn't see it coming. Hopefully he just retires. He's to injury prone and been getting concussions a lot this past season. But best of luck to him. Hope we snag a power running back. McCoy is a younger version of Westbrook. I see him greatly improving next season.

unfortunately it wont mean much cause andy reid is allergic to any type of consistent running game

Well, hopefully he has an epiphany on the off-season cause a good running game is what opens up for the passing game. Especially them deep passes. I believe he will see the light!! If we gain a good power running back. I think a lot of times he goes away form it because it usually isn't successful. But we'll see..
