There's nothing worse than a bad romantic comedy.

Bad movies suck, but bad romantic comedies are painful because their soooooo cheesy.

Flipped the TV on today and "The Runaway Bride" was on. some bs starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere

just awful. about this chick that runs from the altar everytime she's about to get married, and this dude (Gere) still wants to wife her. wtf?

Gere stay taking losses, in Pretty Woman, he wanted to wife a prostitute.

there's a certain "cheese factor" in nearly all of them, because you know in the beginning they'll end up together.

but they dont have to be AWFUL.

    Youve Got Mail. <
    Not awful.

Real spit right here. WHMS is the template for a great RomCom...there really isnt a RomCom that even comes close to this.

    ****Spoilers****

But he ended up with Minka Kelly at the end

Anne Hall is up there with When Harry met Sally, and City Lights may be the best RomCom

If Grosse Point Blank qualifies as a romantic comedy then I'd put that in my top 5. Same goes for Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.

Lost in Translation was great but i thought it leaned more toward a drama with comedic elements (Bill Murray) than a romantic comedy.

I second that sentiment. out of all of the genres i can think of, romantic comedies are my least favorite. thats not to say that there arent a few gems to be found within the pile of the rubbish though. because there are.

like eternal sunshine, amelie, intolerable cruelty, annie hall, lars and the real girl, and the very underrated prizzi's honor
