What ever happened to the book club that got started and nobody could agree which books to read?

    Just like ? smh

And as far as the 48 Laws of Power I think that is a great read.
It's not really the thoughts of Robert Greene it's just a collection of ideas from a bunch of great leaders.
The laws need to be taken in context and also some laws make other laws null and void.

This book should be read in it's entirety first and then you should focus on a different law daily.

Actually, we did choose and read The Bluest Eye. The problem was, for all of the talk beforehand, not many participated in actually reading the book. I think A Clockwork Orange was the next book.

Why Americans Hate Welfare. That ? 'll open your eyes to see how the media (and the powers that be) changed the perception of poverty in america from poor white folks, to poor black folks.

Im reading Outliers by Malcom Gladwell....just started today
    30 pages in very good...

"Outliers can be enjoyed for its bits of trivia, like why most pro hockey players were born in January, how many hours of practice it takes to master a skill, why the descendents of Jewish immigrant garment workers became the most powerful lawyers in New York, how a pilots' culture impacts their crash record, how a centuries-old culture of rice farming helps Asian kids master math. But there's more to it than that. Throughout all of these examples--and in more that delve into the social benefits of lighter skin color, and the reasons for school achievement gaps--Gladwell invites conversations about the complex ways privilege manifests in our culture. He leaves us pondering the gifts of our own history, and how the world could benefit if more of our kids were granted the opportunities to fulfill their remarkable potential."

Is "The Road" any good. By Cormack McCarthy.

I tried to like this book. I really did. I couldn't get down with the writing style, though.

    Syrup by Maxx Barry
Story about the idea that everyone has at least one or two ideas that are worth millions of dollars, but don't follow through. Follows what happens when one guy does. Funny novel, strictly fiction with a good, somewhat whimsical storyline.

    Slick by Daniel Price
My favorite book. Well-written realistic novel about the world of PR spin.

    Raising Fences by Michael Datcher
My wife's favorite book. An excellent read. A memoir about an intelligent young man growing up in rough neighborhoods whose only goal is to put together a traditional family in terms of having a wife that is perfect for him before having children (and the missteps along the way).

    Steve Harvey is genius.

He took information that any good dude would be able to give and put it in book form. I haven't heard anything from him on his morning show or from women that read his book that is truly new, exciting, or revolutionary. Awesome he had the foresight to put it in a book.
