No Online DiRT 3 Multiplayer for PS3

PS3 owners will have to wait until PlayStation Store is back to access DiRT 3's online features.
Even though online play is now functional for other games on the PSN, DiRT 3 owners must redeem the in-box VIP pass to unlock competitive multiplayer, as well as other cool features like uploading videos to YouTube.
Similar to EA's online pass, purchasers of DiRT 3 second-hand will have to buy the VIP pass, which costs £6.29 ($10) on PS3 or 800 Microsoft Points on XBL. If you bought the game new, you don't have to buy anything; however, it is still needs verification by the Store.
Codemasters' communications director Andy Gray told Videogamer that while "it is a really unfortunate situation", they were confident that "everything is being done to rectify the service as soon as possible."

Codemasters has responded to the PlayStation 3 gamers who can't play DiRT 3's online multiplayer.
To play online, PS3 players must register a VIP Pass via the PlayStation Store. But they can't, because the Store is offline.
Warner Bros' fighting game Mortal Kombat had the same problem until its PS3 online pass was disabled.
"We've looked into doing something similar for DiRT 3 but it's not technically possible," Codemasters told Eurogamer in a statement. "It's hard-coded into the game."
"Changing this would require considerable development time and a patch which would need to go through the submission process. This in itself would be a longer process that waiting for Sony to bring the PSN Store back online."
When will the PlayStation Store be back online? Sony won't commit to a specific date, merely a rough "end of May" timeframe. -
it's only for another week. damn well know the psn store will be up by next tuesday. they counting on that CoD cash. more like depending on it.
