yeah Big Sean said they'd only let him do 12 or so songs though he wanted more
Chris Brown also only had like 12 songs on his album -
maybe the artist only had about 12 good songs.i rather listen to a 12 track quality album than an album with over 17 songs, with those extra songs possibly ruining a good album

there are GREAT albums with fewer than 10 songs on them...

THe way contracts (record label and itunes) are set up, you only get paid off of 12 songs, anything over is pretty much the artist wasting money. I remember Young Guru speaking about it, he says the record labels and Itunes are pretty much ripping off the artist with the outdated contracts.

I remember reading that if its anymore than 12 more songs the rest of the songs are basically given away for free

I think i'm prince, michael jackson
wooooooooooo -
Its how publishing is set up anything over ten you start losing money
-
i like to see around 14 tracks on an album..12 seems too short sometimes..but anything over 15 there's usually 2 or 3 weaker tracks that hurt the album as a whole..

Money....It costs to record and produce a song.....So record labels downsize their album budgets to double their profits

Me too. I'd take a quality 12 track album over some album with fillers any day. -

I dont believe in albums containing less than 15 songs. Notice I said SONGS, not tracks with intros and skits.
