She's got arthritis, but instead of saving some money and going to the doctor, she goes to Reverend Whatever-his-name-is and gives him her last dime, and all because he said that if she "sows that seed" the Lord will pay her back tenfold.
People actually believe this ? in real life. Adults. It's amazing.
Famous magician and nonsense debunker Derren Brown did a whole documentary on it. He takes an amateur actor and trains him for several months to play a faith healer preacher. Then they go to Texas (where loads of idiots believe this garbage) and they put on a show. He fools people in the street with fake miracles. He attends a genuine church service where a "real" preacher is using the same tricks. The whole thing goes in depth about why faith healing is all fake.

The majority of Christians don't believe in miracles/faith healing
I've found people who attend non-denominational are the ones most likely to believe in that type of stuff -

It's easy to say that when something relatively minor happens to you and then things get better.
But there are people in Congo praying everyday that the militia doesn't come back to the village to gang-? all the girls again.
But that militia keeps coming back.
Where's the lord's providence at? -
