Standard D-pad, dual analog sticks, two bumpers, two triggers, 6.2-inch HD touchscreen, microphone, speakers, gyroscope, accelerometer, sensor strip, stylus, rumble, camera, and HDMI output.

And that thing is just the ? CONTROLLER.

How much is this gonna cost Nintendo to manufacture? Jesus.

Though many at E3 have been impressed by Nintendo’s new WiiU console and controller, outside the conference many appear to remain skeptical of the new system’s potential.

Nintendo shares fell 5.7% yesterday to a five-year low for the company, and today sank even further, dropping another 5.2%

Mitsushige Akino, a chief fund manager at Ichiyoshi Investment Management, says that the WiiU should NOT be blamed for the drop, rather the culprit is investor expectations.
“The product itself is not bad — market expectations had been far too high,” he said. “It is also a reflection of structural issues caused by a transformation within the market.” (COUGH IPHONE COUGH)
A similar drop happened when the Wii was first announced, but we all know how that story ended. They may have botched their first impression, but with a solid product, I don’t imagine the negativity will hang around for long.
