Hunger Games Motion Poster Online
May the odds be ever in your favour
19 July 2011 | Written by James White | Source: Yahoo

Though the team behind The Hunger Games has apparently opted not to make a big splash at Comic-Con (there’s always the chance for a surprise or two), the promotion for the film is not slowing down. The latest element to escape into the wild wide web? A fancy motion poster, which you can see over at Yahoo.

Yes, Lionsgate seem to like their motion posters, given that there’s been at least two for Conan. And with web technology the way it is, you can actually make them look fairly decent.

The Games poster makes use of the story’s iconic Mockingjay image and that well-used phase as the tagline.

Just in case it slipped your mind, The Hunger Games is adapted from Suzanne Collins' book trilogy about a devastated future world where kids and teens are forced to fight to the death in a brutal series of gladiatorial games designed to keep the population in order.

Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who agrees to enter the games in the place of her sister and discovers that she’ll need all her wit and cunning to survive. The cast also includes Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and many more.

Gary Ross is busy directing the movie, which will be out on March 23 next year.

    The Hunger Games Footage Online
    Katniss out on the hunt
29 August 2011 | Written by James White | Source: MTV

Lionsgate is keeping up the slew of publicity material released for The Hunger Games, following up the seemingly endless casting announcements and more recent pictures with some actual, moving footage, which was shown during the weekend as part of MTV’s Music Video Awards. You can take a look below.

Given that director Gary Ross is still knee deep in production, there’s not exactly loads of finished film from which he could have chosen. But given that the focus is on Jennifer Lawrence’s heroine Katniss Everdeen, it’s natural to pick something that features her.

Don’t go expecting an awful lot, though – this is largely just a quick burst of Everdeen in action, hunting in a forest, introduced by Lawrence herself.

The Hunger Games, for the three people yet unaware, is adapted from the first book in Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, set in a world where America has been shattered to near destruction by war. The civilians of the brutal world are kept both entertained and in check by the Games, which sends two young people from each of the Districts to fight to the death in cruel combat. Our heroine trades places with her sister and goes off to take part…

With Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland among the cast, The Hunger Games will finally arrive here on March 23 next year. Before then, we expect approximately 235 teasers and trailers.

    Hunger Games Trailer Arrives Online
And this one explains the plot!
    14 November 2011 | Written by Helen O'Hara | Source: YouTube

The first full trailer for The Hunger Games is here and there's good news for those who haven't read the books, because this one actually comes close to explaining what's going on. The good news for those who have read the books is that it looks pretty ? close to what you've read, which bodes well for the toughest teen franchise out there and its chances on the big screen.

The story centres on Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), a teen in a post-apocalyptic future who hunts to supplement her mother and sister's meagre rations along with her friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth). When her sister is chosen for the Hunger Games, an annual contest to the death that keeps the outlying (and potentially rebellious) Districts under the control of the technologically advance Capitol, Katniss takes her place - and faces 23 other teenagers in a fight to the last survivor. Like, ? .

You'll glimpse most of the rest of the featured cast here: Josh Hutcherson is fellow sacrificial lamb Peeta; Elizabeth Banks is District 12's Games coordinator Effie Trinket; Woody Harrelson is former Games champion Haymitch; Lenny Kravitz is fashion designer Cinna; Stanley Tucci is Caesar Flickman, the Capitol's answer to Wogan; Donald Sutherland is the sinister President Snow, and Wes Bentley is Games co-ordinator Seneca Crane.

The Hunger Games is out on March 23 next year. Ignore anyone who tells you it's just like Twilight; this has much more death.
