Highly-rated Brit flick gets a promo

A British indie that's generating plenty of buzz is Ben Wheatley's ? List. It's the young director's follow-up to his punchy thriller Down Terrace and judging by this new trailer, it's shaping up to be a crackerjack second feature.
The story follows ex-soldier Jay (Neil Maskell) who's put his skills to use as a contract killer doing the nasty stuff with Leon-like aplomb. When a job in Kiev goes horrifically wrong, Jay finds himself struggling to put his life - and work - back in order. His partner, Gal (Michael Smiley), though, has a proposal that tempts him back into the gruesome business.
It's another name on that eponymous '? list' that will get him back in the game and out from under the feet of his wife (The Descent's MyAnna Buring) and kids.
But before you can say "Noooo! It's the curse of the one-last-job!", Jay is buried deep in a world of spiralling paranoid and menace, a vibe nicely conveyed by the trailer's eerie use of non-diegetic sounds. There's some Apocalypse Now-ish about the stark score on here and we're already feeling a little spooked,
? List arrives in cinemas on September 2. This is one to keep eyes peeled for.
