his approval rating is 45 percent. The only thing he got going for him is the GOP approval rating is way lower.

He gained my respect back on this Press Conference.

I admit i was losing faith in him and i just knew that he was gonna fold on the Debt Ceiling talks but he's showed some Leadership on this one.

I've said this many times, the main reason Obama will probably win in 2012 is because Republicans are so much worse. Obama is a disappointment to many if not most people, but having Republicans in charge of the House is not a pretty sight.

"Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD." Jeremiah 17:5

Pray that our leaders make the right decisions, but never place your faith in any man. These words will ring louder and louder as we get closer to the consummation. It's even at the doors!

maaaaaaaaannn, south side obama almost came out in that press conference lol. it's like offering an ungrateful woman the moon, and she says "ok. i don't get the stars with that??" that's prety much what pres. obama offered to the gop. the gop is willing to sink the economy, in order to protect the wealthy. but what makes it even sadder, these dumb azzz middle class republican voters will STILL vote for them, even tho the gop is spittin in their middle class faces.

watched both press conferences last night and i still think the republicas have painted themselves in a corner. i believe boehners speech was made to make the president look bad but and the repubs look good not to show that they are willing to compromise. it is also wierd that he blamed the president for starting this mess. which is a flat out lie. the republicans wont put thier gaurd down and its stupid. A balanced budget amemdment would make out nation not just our govt stop growing

So trump showed up again talking about how the Pubs need to do whatever it takes to win politically on the debt negotiations even if it means default. Thats cool cause trump is talking crazy again. Hes like a right wing ? caricature, single handedly running off the moderates.

I wish they would just handle this ? though..

yeah but the only reason those cuts are on the table is cause of republicans. lets not forget that the only reason we having this fight is republicans and we can cut some of the stuff in social services.

what i mean by win is he will come out of this looking like the good guy. its bad for repubs i think them poor white folks having buyers remorse with the tea party. most of them will be gone and replaced with regular repubs in a couple years

If Obama wins the debt ceiling fight, he loses. The whole question at issue now is whether there should be revenue increases in addition to massive spending cuts. Since the cuts seem front-ended, they'll prolong the economic slump and indeed make it worse. That will make it harder for Obama to win reelection. So like I said, if Obama wins, he loses.

The best outcome is to have the ceiling raised without a deal. That way economic disaster is averted, the Republicans would have themselves look bad for nothing, and a better deal could be made down the road. (After all, there is emphatically no present debt crisis.)
