If i had to write down every rap ? that these 3 dudes influenced i would get carpal tunnel from so much typing! just say 100% of EVERYBODY! for example i hear Kool G Rap and its evident that Nas, Eminem and The estate of Christopher Wallace owe this dude royalties they got so much from him. the 80' and 90's kept it hot with lyricism and then the 00's came and lyrical flow and skill took a nosedive. its a new decade so lets raise the standard again. (and assasinate soulja boy) sometimes to go forward you have to go back and see how it reall was. enjoy to my old school heads and young bucks listen and learn before you say some dumb ? (like drake is the best rapper to ever live) and make yourself look ? ! ENJOY!!

lyrics make me a menace, When its, In a sentence, then its finished,
more pure than raw, much more than above the law, I don't go on tour I go to war!

WOW.. that one line is hotter than these ? ass rappers whole catalog

Kane puts words together better than few ive seen then or now! you have to press rewind to keep up!

cause i was taught to only give a dog a bone
? if you hungry take your ? ass home
yo my mamma didn't raise no ?
if you aint sucking ? you cant get ? from me
I aint got a quarter i be damn if i support her.
I don't give a ? if my ? wearing high waters

now ask yourself. can YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER drop ryhmes off the dome with that type of skill??

That's not a fair poll, all them cats are Godfathers of this hip hop ? . I just went on my Brooklyn bias and went with Kane. There's no winner though, them dudes are historical, they all did something I don't think anyone will achieve again. No amount of money or records sold will equal to what they accomplished.

    I start to think,
    and then I sink
into the paper, like I was ink
    When I'm writing,
I'm trapped in between the lines,
    I escape, when I finish
    my rhymes

so after checking out that thread about fans being easily impressed and peeping the "battle vids" in there, I must say that there has been deevolution in hip hop....
these young ? can barely read much less put together a coherent clever rhyme...

notice how the young cats don't even bother to come inside threads like these.....lyrics are like cryptinight to these new rap fans

    and this ? right chea

Picture a mic, the stage is empty
A beat like this might tempt me
To pose, show my rings and my fat gold chain
Grab the mic like I'm on Soul Train
But I'll wait 'cause I mastered this
Let the others go first so the brothers don't miss
Eric B. break the sticks (you got it)
Rakim will begin when you make the mix
    I'll experiment like a scientist
You wanna rhyme, you gotta sign my list
'Cause I'm a manifest and bless the mic I hold
You want it next? then you gotta have soul
'Cause if you ain't got it, I'm a make an encore
Take the mic, make the people respond for
The R, 'cause that's the way it'll have to be
If you wanna get on after me
Think about it, wait, erase your rhyme

Forget it and don't waste your time
'Cause I'll be in the crowd if you ain't controlling it
Drop the mic, you shouldn't be holding it

this how it should be done
this style, is identicsl to none
some try to make it sound like this but you're getting me
upset and i'm wet cuz you're sweating me
i drip steam like a micraphone fiend
eager to emcee is my theme
i get hyped, when i hear the drum roll
Rakim is on the mic.......and you know i got soul!

got soul (you got it) that's why I came
To teach those who can't say my name
First of all, I'm the soloist, the soul controller
Rakim gets stronger as I get older
    Constant elevation causes expansion
I write my rhyme while I cool in my mansion
Then put it on tape and in the city I test it
Then on the radio the R's requested
You listen to it, the concept might break you
'Cause almost anyone can relate to...
Whoever's out of hand, I'm give him handles
Light 'em up, blow 'em out like candles
Or should I just let him melt?
Then give him a hand so they can see how it felt

Straight ? fire, man "You Know I got Soul'' is my fave all time ever
