So once again, somebody explain how Cam Newton is so much better than Terrelle Pryor?

Everybody's talking about how Pryor will be a bust and he'll never make it as an NFL QB. They knock him and bash him, but yet they either praise or have nothing to say about Cam Newton. To be honest, Cam Newton isn't much better. Let's go over eveything...

First off if you looked at their stats last season in college, they are both very similar. Cam had the edge, but those stats are misleading. Cam started 1 year and played in a spread (gimmick) offense where he rarely lined up behind the center. Pryor started for 3 years under a pro style offense and was under center alot more often. His play progressed each year at OSU. And before you say "well Cam played in a tougher conference and dominated". So did Tim Tebow. And he's not exactly lighting it up in the pros, now is he? he's got problems of his own.

People criticized Pryor for his mechanics. Yes, his mechanics need to be fixed. But let's not act like Newton's mechanics are any better. His need to be fixed as well. Both have very strong arms, but both have alot of accuracy problems. If you watched cam's pre-season games, you would know this. Even the analyst broke it down on how his accuracy needs work.

And what about football smarts? Everybody talks about how dumb Pryor is and how he has know football IQ. Well, did you guys watch both Cam & Pryor at Gruden's QB camp? Cam wasn't able to answer simple questions about playcalling. Pryor asnwered everything from playcalling, to changes plays at the line, to picking up blitz packages. And also, Pryor scored a 27 on the Wonderlic test as opposed to Newton's 21. Pryor's Football IQ >>> Cam's.

And last but not least, the controversy. Everybody criticizes Pror for his character issues and what he did at OSU. Did we forget how Cam got kicked outta Florida for academic fraud and stealing? That's alot worse than what Pryor did. What Pryor did was bad, but I'm willing to bet he didn't know it was wrong. After all, he doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed.

So all in all, it's silly to go bash Pryor and say how he'll fail, yet praise Cam Newton and act like he don't got much of the same problems Pryor got. If Cam newton gets a chance to start in the pros, so should Pryor. I still fail to see how Newton is so much better than Pryor.

Here we go again. Two big athletic black qb's... how could they POSSIBLY BE ? DIFFERENT. Ummm mechanics, arm strength, deep ball, accuracy, footwork, anything else you need???? Oh and while you're talking about intelligence, do you wanna guess who had the worse wonderlic score out of the qb's in grudens "qb camp". I'll tell you one thing he sounded sharp with gruden and his name is NOT Cam Newton.....

LMAO....no hate here bruh.......BOTH QBs can make plays with their legs......both have accuracy issues that are documented...and they both have mechanic and footwork issues.....all of which can be fixed with good coaching...and being that TP went to OAK he is gonna be at big disadvantage....IMO TP is more athletic and has more TALENT.

TP arm is much weaker, that throw Cam just made in the endzone that Steve Smith wasn't able to get in showed more touch and accuracy than TP could ever dream of.

Although, much sharper than Ryan Leaf Brady Quinn Jay Cutler and Tony Romo

Really? Another awful post. Pryor would not even be accepted into Notre Dame or Vanderbilt.

Athletic ability, Cam is just a much better overall athlete.
Cam is a Football player in a scouting sense. Pryor is more like a Basketball player playing Football.
    Footwork
    Mechanics
    Talent
    Cam is extremely elusive.
    Arm strength
    Cam has the "it" factor
Cam is just much more dominate.

Cam is potentially like a rich man's Josh Freeman and Josh Freeman has the most potential in the NFL for players who played more than 16 games. That's how good Cam is.

Pryor is a very raw more athletic Daunte Culpepper. If Pryor puts it all together, he can be special but he can also be a bust.

Hell u talkin about? People aren't out there praising Cam. They aren't speakin on him a whole lot right now, but that's cuz Pryor is the story of the moment. They dogged Cam PLENTY prior to the draft. Your memory may be a little spotty

I've didn't hear them ? on Cam as much as they shat on Pryor. Couple of people had doubts, but they at least were willing to give him chance. And many people have said he will be good.

And do I have to bring up him going 6-19 in his last game. Having a completion percentage of 30 is just unacceptable. No way around that

    they dont here you bruh......

Im telling you....the thing that is gonna depend on who becomes the better QB will be about coaching.....and being that TP went to OAK id give Cam the edge in that department.....maybe OAK has thier ? together now that they have a new coach.....we just gonna have to wait and see....

Cam has a MUCH stronger arm. which is the most important part of a QB/
Pryors arm is more on a Dennis Dixon/Vince Young ? . Average to weak imo.
    Cam won more.
Cam won a state title in high school. A national title in JUCO and a National titile in college, and the Heisman.
He beat the top competition and he was the deciding factor in most games.

They are not in the same league. It would be better to compare Tyrod Taylor and Pryor.
    (Tyrod> BTW)

I think Pryor will do well in the NFL also once he gets his chance

not to make ? about Race because Tebow was/is getting the SAME HATE that Newton is getting, I think it is some people who don't want to see the QB position CHANGE from its TRADITIONAL GOLDEN BOY POCKET PASSER, so they hate on everybody that is not your "TRADITIONAL POCKET PASSER"

anyway if Al Davis KEEPS Hue Jackson as the coach for a good 2-3 years and let him work with and develop Pryor, I guarantee Pryor takes over for Campbell and does his thang as well

I am rooting for BOTH QB's though, I love when HATERS ARE PROVEN WRONG!
