Damn near every ? on the IC and in real life always wanna rep how they “grew up in the hood”. How rough does your neighborhood have to be to earn the right to claim you from the hood? Forreal tho, ? seems mad generic whenever somebody claim they‘re from the hood. I think some of yall cats just happened to live a few streets over from some hood ? or grew up a predominately Black area, and just be like “Ok ? it, ima rep like I’m from the hood. I’m Black, aint nobody gonna question my hoodness.”
So tell me IC, what are the credentials for a neighborhood to be considered the hood? Drop them.

Uhhh at least a lower-middle class neighborhood with a lot of crime per capita....
Like your city can be on the murder capital list, but if you live in a cul-de-sac you can't rep the hood part....

what he said...? its some fakers out there but it really explains itself...u know when u in the hood...start seeing little ass busted shacks wit 2 or 3 cars on rims in front of it...well there you have it -

yeah i was in walgreens last night and they got a hell of a selection of rillos...some ? the corner store aint got -
if you can go to your nearest corner store and buy a single newport short for a quarter out the box:
if they sell "bumpers" in the liquor store where you live
if you see a strip club with a church or a daycare next to it (southern folks)
if the store lets you buy namebrand clothing with food stamps
if the man who owns the ice cream truck also runs a local bank where you can get loans from his truck
all these are clues that you live in the "hood" -
