War Of The Worlds vs. I Am Legend...

Two movies that deal with an apocalyptic world and two men trying to survive... one with his kid the other with his dog...
They also had as lead actors two of Hollywood's biggest box office receipt pullers... (don't know about today though)
WOTW: Has one of the most entertaining scenes in cinema history... the part where Tom Cruise is running away from laser beams on the streets LOL that was a real time moment...
IAL: Officially has the highest number of movie extras in film history (the scene on Brooklyn Bridge) and that scene alone is also the most expensive. That ? was just alone for majority of that film, no other humans and still pulled it...
I like both films, even though I felt WOTW had a poor ending and IAL to me was Will's last good film...

IAL had a better script and was a mature film compared to WOTW... IMO
But I think Spielberg's film won in the technical area (CGI & Photography)... -

Agreed. Both movies were still excellent. -
Hmm I actually liked Justin Chatwin in WOTW. He's a good actor from what I saw there and other films he did. But WOTW is an extremely average film for being such a big film. Big actor, big director, big f/x team....but it was just ok. I Am Legend has a more developed character and better drama.

lol at aliens coming from another galaxy, being technologically superior, and getting wiped out because of cold weather. Cosign the son being a little ? in that movie

I hated I am legend and that stupid cop out ending. War of the Worlds isn't too great either but the effects alone>>>>>>I am Legend.

Ya. He had a serious attitude problem, but then again from all the posts here about him, I guess he did his job well.

Wait wait wait, how can anyone say that I Am Legend's ending was a cop out, when War of the World's ending was completely unbelievable. Really, an entire suburb is unscathed??

Honestly that movie was whack. Tom Cruise fell off after Collateral. Valkyrie, MI3 and Lions for Lambs were at least above average. Now he is having his comeback with Knight and Day. -

I Am Legend is better movie to me. I haven't seen it in a couple of years, but after coming into this thread ima bust it out of my DVD collection and watch it again.

it wasnt cold weather it was the impurities in our atmosphere that they did not have the immune system to fight off....but yeah it was wack!!
