We all know they ? on B.I.G., but who reigns supreme between these two. Jay got the fantastic flow, wordplay, & etc, Pac had the emotion and was an underrated lyricist/poet.

Easily Jay-Z. One thing people forget about being an artist is...well, living and making a ? career out of it. Jay-Z's done that for the past 15 years. Pac did it for 5 and then died. Even rapping wise, Jay-Z might never have said politically active things, but he was consistent in his raps, unlike mr. "keep ya head up - ? YO ? AND THE CLIQUE YOU CLAIM" 2facepac. Lyrically, Jigga is superior to pac as well. Saying something with emotion and meaning doesn't really help much when you get slaughtered by sheer talent.

2Pac easily. Just because someone is a great rapper doesn't make them a great artist. Outside of rapping, what else does Jay Z do artistically that involves music. Pac was also a poet and it showed in his music. Jay Z is one of the greatest rappers, but Pac was better. Flow is the only category in which Jay Z is clearly better than Pac. To clown Pac for doing it for 5 years and dying and then in the same breath praise Jay for doing it for 15 years is laughable. So you're saying Pac did what Jay did in 1/3 of the time?
Lyrically, Pac painted pictures whether it was his pain, or the struggles of black females or the people in general. -

if you count actors as artist i guess Pac was better but as an Hip Hop artist Jay got dude cuz he didnt change from ballerina to thug -
When Big is at the prime of his career. He said Pac was a rappers rapper. So that included everybody East to West. I think Pac was about to ? the Money raps and focus us more to the realities. Think about it, he watered down his lyrics because the fans wouldn't get it alot of the time. So it was like just give it to me and let me fun with it. Borthers and Sistas are out here grinding...who has time to find meanings within meanings. See Rass Kas or Canibus. That ? is good for hip-hop but if you want change give the pple something simple. A straight on discussion. No Jigga is a great business man but history will show his real impact....Economics. He had to pay Nas for his street cred back. Come on this one is easy.

Content wise Jay Z has predominantly talked about hustling drug's and materalism in his Music, he lacks emotion, soul, substance and creativity in his Music
As far as Hook's Jay Z also majority of the time gets Singers or other Rappers even to feature on his Song's and do the Hook
Jay Z lacks the Poetry and Song Writting ability 2pac had, Jay Z can Rap but 2pac actually said things with meaning in his Music about subjects people can relate too
All Jay Z does is Rap

You're looking at the wrong analogy. Being a great poet doesn't make you a great rapper. Poetry doesn't involve music anyway so IDK what the ? you're talking about with that. Jay-Z, regardless of what you wanna say about how he's been easing off hip hop for a while, has done a ton of collabs with artists from different genres. This crossover ? maybe too mainstream/selling out, but that's what an artist does. He branches out and tries new things. And he tries new things after he has established himself in one genre. And he establishes himself by living long enough to produce the works necessary to procure such establishment. Capisce?
And LOL @ "struggles of people"... jay-z painted pictures of the struggles of people...hustlers like himself. A true artist will draw on his own experiences to create his own style, not do the reverse (use a style [a la gangsta for tupac] to shape his experiences). -

2pac was a far superior Song Writer a true Song Writer
2pac also was better at Hook's then Jay Z when 2pac did his own Hook's
2pac had a better ear for Beat's too
2pac had a Melodic Flow unlike Jay Z
But the main difference is 2pac is far superior then Jay Z based on content, substance, emotion and making heart felt Song's that are relatable -
and ? forget pac only lived to 25....he aint have a chance to grow into a man and mature
hov career kicked off when he turned 29-30
that ? pac was ahead of his time....if he had 5 more years he'd been on some other level ? ...he got better with every album where as HOV peaked on BP and he aint top that album yet

Jay Z has one classic Album with Reasonable Doubt outta 11 Album's
A good Album with The Blueprint while the rest are below average, decent at best or amongst the worst Album's of all time
Song's like Brendas Got A Baby, Dear Mamma, Hail Mary, Letter To My Unborn Child, Keep Ya Head Up, Bury Me A G, Letter To The President and so on are so so superior to any of Jay Z's Song's superior by a country mile -
