Given that it comes from Fish Tank director Andrea Arnold, there’s naturally a lot of anticipation for the latest adaptation of Emily Bronte’s classic doomed romance Wuthering Heights. Now the movie has a teaser trailer online, which you can watch below.
Heights, for those unfamiliar with Bronte’s novel or the approximately 500 filmed versions of it that have happened over the years, follows the story of young Heathcliff, adopted into the wealthy Earnshaw family. That one simple act of charity puts him on a collision course with Catherine, whose life he will forever change…
Don't go expecting much in the way of plot here: this trailer is more about mood than dialogue, with plenty of wind-whipped atmosphere and stark footage.
This new version of the tragic love story premiered at the Venice Film Festival and also played at Toronto. It’ll be part of the London Film Festival next month before arriving in cinemas on November 11.
