My family ain't Mexican but a lot of this ? happens in all of Latin America and this is one of the reason I don't want my parents to move back there when they fully retire. As soon as you step off the plane from the U.S they think you have money. So long story short kidnapping is huge in Latin America and my parents having worked and lived here since the 70's people are automatically thinking they're caked up. There crib down there is in a gated community with armed (machine guns) guards
