Staring at 10 black lines on white paper
Ironically representing 10 dreams shattered by LIFE
Short days, long nights, but still can't escape this hell hole
Told my sis the other day that LIFE is ? up and I'm her ?
So i wait till she tells me to move, speak, and sit
I just wanna be relevant and live with no fears
But i cant b/c I'm tied down with the Female's version of the American Dream
Welfare checks, baby daddies, and food stamps
I hustle all day to get awarded 1 step foreward and 2 steps back
Slapped down by reality b/c it only allows you to see stars you'll never reach,
To hope but never fulfill it, and to struggle and get use to it
So that i'll never know that there is better, i can do better, and have the opportunity to give my children better
As i watch this silent movie and fill up my diary with forgotten dreams
The blueprints of my success lose its meaning
So i walk around with my leash that reads LIFE's ?
and i'm pleased with it

Theirs hope and light at the end of the tunnel, their always is..

I appreciate you sharing this particular piece because it entails what not only a blackwomen goes thru but as well as a lot of women, native American females could def relate to the triumps and broken dreams of a black girls philosophy..

    Thanks for sharing again!
