Is Microsoft Planning an Xbox LIVE Fall Update Beta?

As has been the case in the past, Microsoft appears to be getting ready to enter a public preview program for their upcoming Xbox LIVE Fall update, scheduled to go live on November 25, 2011.
This morning, a page accepting applications to the beta appeared on Microsoft's website prematurely, and has since been taken down. According to Joystiq, earlier the page showed the following:

So, it seems that the public preview has been all but confirmed officially, but it remains to be seen when registration and the beta itself will be taking place. Stay tuned to IGN for more information as it becomes available.

Whats gonna be so good about this? just change the way it looks for awhile?

Im looking forward to the new dashboard update. Hopefully, they'll be enough new content on xbox to make my cable not worth having anymore.
