Shouldn't it have applied to brett favre a year ago? At this time last year favre was playing worse than mcnabb was this season.

not really. Farve almost took them to the chip 2 year's ago. so the coaching staff is gonna show more loyalty and give more or a rope to a guy that almost got you to the bowl. Plus the coaching staff new him longer. It would have been a better comparison if in Farve's 1st year with Minnesota he played as bad as McNabb did.

A fair point but to me a lot of it had to do with the coaching staff being shook of favre

Plus last year they knew what they had in Tavaris (not much) he wasn't viewed as the future franchise QB, Ponder is.

that's part of it aswell. I think Childress was totally scared of Farve. Once Childress realized that by bringing in Farve the team was Farve's and not his anymore that relationship fell apart. Plus the Vikings were trying to get a new stadium. so they wanted that fan support.

I think Frazier really wanted to stick with McNabb but his job is on the line already. so throw in the young guy and you get a little more slack.. Black head coaches don't get re hired and you have a limited time to show you know what you are doing.

Favre 3 time MVP . Superbowl winning QB . McNabb is a serial underachiever. With a limited backbone and heart . If Philly lets you go your best years are behind you . Word to Dawkins , Trotter , and Troy Vinsen

As horrible as Favre was his last year with the Vikes, he still played with heart. McNabb was lazy and didn't give a ? . Plus T-Jack was/still is horrible and now they have Ponder.

The safety against the bears where McNabb just crumpled, you would have never seen Favre just fold up like that.
