Kind of a slow year as far as great films. With the Academy now opening the field to 10 best picture nominees, I can't image who they'll nominate.
Here's my pick for best film of '09...
THE HURT LOCKER
No film held me captive like this one. Intense every step of the way. Script is dope, cinematography is gritty, and the acting is top notch. This films proves that you don't need a ton of effects to create tension and intrigue.
Honorable mentions go out to...
INVICUTUS
DISTRICT 9
and STAR TREK
Who you got?

I'm looking at that movie, "The Lovely Bones", I haven't seen it yet but I've heard its a great movie.
I heard Invicutus was stupid due to accents not being on point or not all there.
D9 was surprisingly good but not top for me. -

I thought the accents were pretty dead on. Eastwood doesn't skimp when it comes to autheticity. Check it out for yourself.
For some reason, I have no desire to see Lovely Bones... at least not in a theatre. -
Not many good movies to be honest. Disctict 9 was my favorite.
