1) Bayonetta (Release Date | January 5, 2010)

Bayonetta is an action game directed by Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe series creator Hideki Kamiya. Set in a fictional city in Europe, the game centers on its title character, a witch named Bayonetta, who shapeshifts and uses various firearms, along with magical attacks she performs with her own hair, to dispatch her foes. She possesses four handguns—two hand-held, and one attached to each heel—and has also been pictured with shotguns, rocket launchers, a glowing whip with a cobra's head at the tip of it, and a two-handed katana. Bayonetta faces angelic and warrior-like enemies that confront and challenge her for reasons she is unaware.

bayonetta-screens-20091027094159314_640w.jpg

She awoke after a 500 year sleep and found herself in an unfamiliar area with no memories of who or what she is. Over time, she begins to remember what caused the predicament she found herself in. While most of the game's plot has not yet been disclosed, what is known is that 500 years before the incident that caused Bayonetta's memory loss, there were two factions of warriors—the Umbra Witches, who are followers of darkness and their counterparts, the Lumin Sages, are followers of light. Both factions mysteriously disappeared from Vigrid under unknown cirumstances.

Combat in Bayonetta, a single-player action game, resembles that in Devil May Cry. The player is encouraged to explore ways to dispatch enemies with as much flair as possible through the use of both melee and long ranged attacks, complex combo strings, and multiple weapons. Special commands or actions are woven into events, finishes, executions, and unique "Torture combos" in which Bayonetta summons a variety of devices to deal devastating blows to her enemies. Such devices range from guillotines to iron maidens. Bayonetta also has unique but limited abilities that her enemies do not possess, such as "Witch Time", which activates when the player makes a well-timed dodge to an attack. This temporarily slows time to allow Bayonetta to inflict massive amounts of counter damage before the enemies can react.

2) MAG (Release Date | January 26, 2010)

mag-20090602033807526_640w.jpg

MAG (previously titled MAG: Massive Action Game) is an upcoming MMO first-person shooter in development by Zipper Interactive. The game will utilize a new server architecture to support online battles with up to 256 players, with users divided into 8-player squads, with 4 squads forming a platoon, and 4 platoons forming a company. Each squad will be led by a player who has advanced through the game's ranking system. Character statistics and development will also increase with frequent gameplay. The players most advanced in rank will be able to either direct the battle or participate directly in combat. Players will be able to customize the face, voice, and armor of their characters, as well as what weapons and kit they carry into battle.

The game begins in 2025. As time passes in our modern world, maintaining a full scale military becomes a burden. In a fully globalized world, the only security threat is from small scale rogue organizations against whom large forces are useless, and the fuel needed to supply increasingly mechanized armies becomes more costly. As a result, most nations armies decrease to the size necessary to defend against a "national emergency". Furthermore, under the "Millennium Accord", no nation's military is permitted to leave its own borders, officially creating world peace. In their place rise PMCs (Private Military Corporations). They have two advantages: first, they compete, lowering their cost, and second, they are allowed to work for anyone, anywhere. In an unregulated global economy, the companies soon compete by less than honest means. After enough mergers, bargains and buy-outs, however, the remaining PMCs decided to use their weapons to full use. The original attacks followed a simple plan; shoot their soldiers, supply goes down causing them to charge more and ultimately, they go out of business. The shadow war, as it was called, grew in secret until the conflict moved into full swing, with the PMCs securing their own interests and violently fighting for contracts. It is unclear if the story will continue after release or remain static.

MAGinternalscreenshot.jpg

The game will contain three different private military company factions:
- Seryi Volk Executive Response/S.V.E.R. (pronounced "Sever"), a ragtag military force with personnel drawn from war-torn countries.
- Raven Industries, a faction with high-tech weapons and armor.
- Valor Company, whose soldiers are equipped with more standard-styled gear.

3) Dante's Inferno (Release Date | February 9, 2010)

Dante's Inferno is based on the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Crusades, who chases his beloved Beatrice and attempts to free her soul from Lucifer, who needs to wed a heaven-bound soul to break free of Hell and make another attempt to take over the Throne of ? . As his pursuit takes him through the monstrous entities within the nine Circles of Hell to save Beatrice, Dante must face his own sins, his family's past and war crimes.

dantes-inferno-20090428094059656_640w.jpg

The game has been touted as being similar to the ? of War games, in which there are light and heavy attacks as well as magic. Dante's primary weapon is a scythe, which he steals from Death itself, as seen in the opening preview of the game. He also has magical powers such as a holy cross (given to him by Beatrice before her death) which fires a burst of light that destroys anything in its path. It has not yet been confirmed if there are more powers or weapons that Dante can use. Also, there is a feature called beast taming where, in the game, demons ride huge beasts and if Dante is able to ? the rider, he can control the beast. Depending which beast is controlled, he can use them for different attacks such as breathing fire on his enemies or bashing them. He is also able to condemn or absolve his foes and many damned shades throughout the journey, gaining righteous or unholy points with each absolution or condemnation. The resulting effect from the more righteousness points attained, the more powerful holy cross attacks become and the more unholy points are achieved, the more powerful Dante's scythe becomes.

    4) Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer (Release Date | February 28, 2010)

Details about the plot of Heavy Rain remain scarce, but it is stated to be "a very dark film noir thriller with mature themes", without any supernatural elements, and that "the real message of the game is about how far you're willing to go to save someone you love."

From the four playable characters mentioned, two have been confirmed thus far -- FBI profiler Norman Jayden, and journalist Madison Paige. All playable characters are said to be looking for a serial killer known as "The Origami Killer".

It has also been confirmed that the main playable characters can die during the story. If characters die, the game and story continue and the player will assume control of a different character, with the death of the other character(s) having a certain contextual impact. In the event that all four characters die, there is a proper conclusion to the story and the game ends.

The game is played using a series of context sensitive actions and quick time events. When investigating, players are controlled with the R2 button to walk and the left-analogue stick to turn and look around, whilst other controls are done using the buttons, the right analogue stick and moving the motion sensitive controller. Players are able to bring up a bunch of thoughts by holding the L1 button and pressing corresponding buttons to say or do what they're thinking. These thoughts will sometimes blur, and selecting them at the wrong time will affect the character's reaction, such as saying something in the wrong way.

Action sequences, such as when the player is being attacked, play out as quick time events. Players will be presented with various symbols, requiring them to either press buttons, move the right analogue stick in a certain way, or shake or tilt the controller. Failure to execute these commands take the story along a different path, and certain mistakes will lead to a character's death. For example, in one scene, Norman Jayden is interrogating a suspect named Mad Jack when he starts to suffer from withdrawal symptoms and button prompts will show up. If he fails to take his drugs, he will be taken to a scenario in which he will have to escape from a car before it is thrown into a crusher, killing him. In scenes like these, a 'timer' scene is shown at the bottom of the screen, indicating how long the player has to escape from his predicament.

    5) ? of War III (Release Date | March 2010)

? of War III is the third and last installment in the Greek mythology based trilogy. ? of War III takes place right after the events of ? of War II, with Kratos upon Gaia's back eager to exact vengeance on the gods and make them "suffer". Kratos must take his quest for vengeance to the stronghold of Zeus. As the Army of Olympus surges out to meet him in battle and the chaos of the Great War is reignited, Kratos must scale the summit of Mount Olympus on the back of the Titan Gaia, leading his new colossal allies in an all out assault on the Olympians.

In a recent screenshot Kratos is seen tearing off the head of the ? Helios. In the game his head can be used in a similar fashion to those of Medusa and Euryale from previous games. Although where their powers revolved around stone, Helios's stems from light. Its functions include distracting undead soldiers, and as a lantern in dark areas.

More weapons included in the game have yet to be announced, but will be more user-friendly than the sub-weapons from previous titles. Combos from previous titles will also make a return as well as new combos yet to be introduced. The number of enemies onscreen has been increased to 50 as opposed to the maximum of 15 in previous ? of War installments.

The game play showed familiar game play from the previous installments as well as some new, for instance, Kratos can grab an enemy and use it in a battering ram-like action to push through other enemies. It also showed Kratos being able to control a Harpie for a short time to fly him by stabbing the Harpie a few times. This footage also showed the Cestus weapon in action. The Cestus are used in a boxing fashion to fight the enemies. It also showed the Cestus shoot chains from the ends of them and then use those chains to strike the enemy.

    6) Possession (Release Date | 2010)

In the game the player plays as a man turned into an intelligent zombie via exposure to experimental chemicals from a laboratory into which he had broken. Retaining his intelligence, he sets out on a mission to destroy the Prometheus Corporation which made the chemicals. To do this, he must first amass a vast number of zombie warriors to take control of the futuristic Restoration City, headquarters of the shadowy Prometheus Corporation.

In the game the player controls the intelligent zombie, known as "The Enslaver", who in turn commands the other undead. The Enslaver begins the game with only three zombie minions - his three infected comrades from the raid on the laboratory - who he can give simple orders to, such as "Attack", "Defend" and "Infect". The latter command causes the zombies to seek out the nearest uninfected humans and ? them. Immediately after, the victims will get back up as mindlessly loyal undead servants of the Enslaver. The more zombies under the Enslaver's command, the more humans can be killed and infected, and the more of Restoration City can be overtaken. At its current full extent, the zombie army can reach numbers of up to 300 fully controllable, upgradeable (see Unit Types below) creatures, which can be divided into multiple squads and assault divisions and commanded to launch complex, multi-directional assaults on enemy positions, just like real military forces.

    possession-20060123012914966_640w.jpg

Possession is expected to feature various online multiplayer modes, one of which is supposed to pit players (as humans in a first person view) with an extensive arsenal of weapons against a player controlling a vast zombie horde. Other modes are expected to include massive confrontations between several independently controlled zombie armies, siege battles where a single army must defend a fortified strongpoint against multiple co-ordinated attack forces, and maybe a zombie vs. zombie deathmatch battle, where dozens of individual zombies fight it out across the city.

    7) Final Fantasy XIII (Release Date | June 21, 2010)

In Final Fantasy XIII, players will embark on a journey through the cityworld of Cocoon and the outerworld of Pulse, encountering and fighting alongside a diverse group of allies. Execute powerful attacks with weapons and magic, and summon the enigmatic Eidolons with an evolved Active Time Battle system. Experience seamless transitions between real-time gameplay and in-game cinematics.

The concept for Final Fantasy XIII's battle system is to maintain the strategic nature of command-based battles. The system stemmed from a desire to create battles similar to those found in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. Yet unlike Final Fantasy XII battles, they do not take place in the same "dimension", but rather a short flash transports players to a new battle screen, separate from the main playing world. The Active Time Battle (ATB) system will return, but it works differently from its predecessors. Users will be able to chain large numbers of commands together in order to achieve attack bonuses.

    FF13battle.png

The plot focuses on the fal'Cie (pronounced /ˈfæl si:/) beings created from the crystals residing inside them. The people marked by the fal'Cie for a greater purpose are named the l'Cie. But being a l'Cie has a price; for should they die before fulfilling their Focus, they will turn into monsters called "Cie Corpses". Some thirteen centuries ago, a fal'Cie constructed a paradise for humanity: The shell-like city of Cocoon floating high above the surface of the world now known as Pulse, both maintained by their own fal'Cie. Cocoon's fal'Cie created life forms and machines for its inhabitants to use, and humanity flourished. Over time, the people of Cocoon began to fear for the safety of their world, and were worried that it would be cast down from the sky into the hell that they see Pulse to be.

In present day, the wilderness of Pulse has strange effects on people, and the theocratic Cocoon Sanctum quarantines and exiles anyone who has been influenced by Pulse from the city with the help of its mighty army, PSICOM. However, as Snow leads Team Nora in a vain attempt to stop the purging, the mysterious Lightning fights her way past PSICOM soldiers to find Pulse's fal'Cie with the aid of Sazh. But by a chain of events, these three along with two of the Purgees, Vanille and Hope, are chosen by the fal'Cie of Pulse against their will to become l'Cie among others, and with that become enemies of humanity that would bring about the downfall of Cocoon.

    8) Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Release Date | TBA)

    final-fantasy-versus-xiii-20070920025931698_640w.jpg

Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, there is scarcely any information surrounding the gameplay and battle system of Final Fantasy Versus XIII because no formal footage has been shown by Square Enix of the gameplay online or within video game magazines, but it is known that the gameplay will be a realistic derivation of Kingdom Hearts's battle system with some elements of a third-person shooter aspect similar to Square Enix's Dirge of Cerberus. Versus XIII will depart from the light and magical aesthetic of his previous directorial games (i.e. Kingdom Hearts) and opt for a darker, bleaker world that is intended to counter previous Final Fantasy installments. In formulating a realistic world, Nomura has stated that he wants the characters to be "believable" and thus realistic. As a testament towards his desire for realism; in the PlayStation Premier trailer, in contrast to previous Final Fantasy titles, Versus XIII had a greater display of graphic violence with an instance of blood. Square Enix representatives have commented that Versus may be the darkest Final Fantasy game yet.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII involves Noctis Lucis Caelum, the last heir to an isolated nation, which holds the last Crystal protected by kings. Its isolation is due to the city's resistance to protect itself against invading heretics. The game has been said to initiate at the "clearing" of a long Cold War between warring nations that revolved around the crystals.

    9) Super Street Fighter IV (Release Date | TBA 2010)

    super-street-fighter-iv-20091123000704934_640w.jpg

Proof of Super Street Fighter IV was first made public accidentally when the German version of GamePro magazine took pictures of Yoshinori Ono in which a game, supposedly Street Fighter IV, is seen featuring T. Hawk and a new logo with a big metallic S behind the Street Fighter logo, much like the Super Street Fighter II logo.

The game is planned to feature eight additional characters, as well as tweaks and changes to the existing ones, such as new ultra combos. Among the added characters are T. Hawk and Dee Jay, who were initially intended to be in the original Street Fighter IV but later dropped. Also revealed was Juri, an all new character, along with Adon from the original Street Fighter, and Cody and Guy from Final Fight, characters who were last featured in Street Fighter Alpha 3. In addition the game will also feature new stages and will have new audio.

The game will feature a few additional online modes, including Team Battle with up to 8 players, Replay Channel, which allows players to view and save replays from around the world, and Endless Battle, in which the winner plays against a rotating group of players. The game also sees the return of the Car and Barrel Bonus Stages from the Street Fighter II series. A downloadable Tournament mode will also feature.

    10) Gran Turismo 5 (Release Date | Summer 2010)

For the first time in the main series, an online mode will be available in the game, with 16 player capability. Both mechanical and external damage have been confirmed. Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that night racing will appear in GT5, but dynamic weather is still an undecided feature, "the functionality is not a problem – we've got the weather system done – but if we are not sure about the quality of it, and how it improves the driving experience, we are not going to have it in the game."

    gran-turismo-5-screens-20091020090453511_640w.jpg

Gran Turismo 5 is set to feature around 1000 cars and over 20 total track locations, with variations bringing the number of unique circuits to 70. Yamauchi has explained that he aims to achieve the 1000 car milestone but actual details on the number of cars in the game is still unclear, with the number ranging between 950 and 1000. Dunsfold Park, located in the United Kingdom – the test track of the British automotive television show Top Gear – will be included in the game.

Lamborghini and Bugatti make their first appearance in the game, following on from their introduction in Gran Turismo PSP, and it has been confirmed the new "gullwing" Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will appear, along with Ferrari's recently unveiled 458 Italia. In an article briefly posted on Polyphony Digital's website, the introduction of electric cars was confirmed; this includes the latest Tesla Motors vehicle. Hybrids were previously included in Gran Turismo 4 with the Toyota Prius and the Honda Insight. At the 2009 Tokyo Game Show, Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned that the latest hybrid and electric cars will be included.

Gran Turismo 5 will be the first game in the Gran Turismo franchise to include both mechanical and external damage modeling, including a real-time deformation engine that will process model deformation according to the speed and angle of impact. Kazonuri Yamuachi confirmed that all vehicles will receive damage of some sort, with racing cars set to feature more advanced damage, while production cars will only receive scratches and mechanical damage. It was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2009 that it will also be possible to overturn cars. Damage is a feature that Yamauchi has said can be turned on or off.

    11) DC Universe Online (Release Date | 2010)

DC Universe Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in the DC Universe. SOE hopes to make a different kind of MMORPG, with The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction being cited as one of the main inspirations for gameplay. SOE is working to make DC Universe Online more interactive than standard MMORPGs, while trying to keep key elements of RPGs, which include a leveling system and inventories. The world is mainly shared, public space instead of heroes or villains owning territory. The public space features dynamically-generated content designed for both hero and villain player characters (uniquely created by the player, who cannot choose DCU stalwarts), which may lead to interesting Player Versus Player battles.

    dc-universe-online-20090929113546916_640w.jpg

It is known that players choose a city of origin for their character, the currently known cities being Metropolis and Gotham City. Another location currently known to be in the game is Arkham Asylum, Gotham City's mental institution for criminals (including a number of Batman's more psychopathic enemies, such as the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, and Two-Face). The character is given either a Justice League or a Legion of Doom communicator - depending on their choice of playing as either a hero or a villain - and the character's allegiance will affect how the game is played; for example, a hero character may encounter a thug robbing an armored truck while a villain character will instead rob (or, depending on character level, assist in the robbing of) said armored truck. It is also known that player characters have threat ratings which will cause both heroes and villains alike to interact accordingly with the character.

Over 120 characters have been confirmed so far with now in the alpha stage of development.

    12) Max Payne 3 (Release Date | Q4 2010)

    502px-Maxpayne3.png

Max Payne 3 was originally scheduled for release in late 2009. However, it was pushed back to February 2010 alongside several other Take Two Interactive franchises in order to "benefit from having more development time". Then the game was expected to be released sometime between March and June 2010. In a recent conference of the Take 2 Interactive, the company revealed they are planning to release the title now in Q4 of fiscal 2010.

Max Payne 3 is the start of a new chapter in Max's life. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever." Since the last game, Max has left New York behind and has "drifted from bad to worse". He has been double-crossed in this new city and he is searching for the truth and a way out. His appearance has also been drastically changed. He is bald, has grown a full beard and has gained a noticeable increase in weight. He also no longer wears his trademark leather jacket.

    max-payne-3-20090623023438118_640w.jpg

The game would be set in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where Payne is working in the private security sector working for a wealthy local family, set 12 years after the events of the second game.

    Gameplay:
-Max can now use human shields.
-Many objects in the game are destructible, such as crates
-The cover system will be introduced in it, though it would not be 'the focus of the game'
-Max will be able to perform life-saving ? shots should he be near death. If he manages to ? his killer before the screen goes black, he'll spring back to life thanks to an adrenaline boost.
-Rockstar used scanning equipment to help capture the real-life feel of the Sao Paulo ghettos, which apparently caused some issues getting through customs

    13) Medal of Honor (Release Date | Fall 2010)

The game will be a reboot of the series, set in modern-day Afghanistan.

    14) The Agency (Release Date | 2010)

The Agency a spy-themed massively multiplayer online shooter. There is little released on the storyline, although it is hinted that there will be one that ties together all of the agencies within the game.

Upon starting the game the player has the opportunity to join one of two agencies, which will determine the style of missions they receive during gameplay:

The United Network of Intelligence and Tactical Experts (U.N.I.T.E) are the world's most elite secret agents. They are the forefront of the fight against terrorism, corruption, and rogue states around the globe. UNITE agents are deadly specialists in stealth and subterfuge, with access to technology the public has never seen before. Headquarters: Unknown Location - North America. mission types: stealth action

    the-agency-20090521010332974_640w.jpg

The Paramilitary Global Operations Network (ParaGON) is one of the largest private armies in the world, serving clients both upstanding and unsavory. ParaGON's efficient, honorable, and often unconventional mercenaries can be found putting duct tape and high explosives to new and exciting uses on every continent. Headquarters: Unknown Location - Africa. mission types: action packed

The game will feature FPS-style gun fighting (with the ability to switch between third and first person views), with some driving and other vehicular segments as well. Skill will be the primary determining factor in the success of the player, though some RPG elements will come into play as well. It has been mentioned that one shot to the head will instantly ? any player, suggesting it will be a somewhat realistic shooter. The game will also include relevant subgames and minigames, among them casino games such as Texas hold 'em, which can be played for fun or can be used to initiate instance missions, such as losing or winning enough games to draw the attention of an NPC.

    15) Final Fantasy XIV (Release Date | 2010)

Eorzea's nations used to be constantly at war with each other until fifteen years ago when the Garlean Empire, a mysterious nation from the east, razed the mightiest of the city-states, Ala Mhigo. The nations decided to band together if they were to repel the invaders, but the Empire never came, leaving a state of détente throughout the land. The resulting peace has led to a wide swath of soldiers and mercenaries suddenly without a job, and so they're now forming guilds and calling themselves under a new name: adventurers.

    final-fantasy-xiv-online-20091008100350647_640w.jpg

The battle and job systems will be different from the one previously used in Final Fantasy XI, which utilized experience points. Character races and monsters will resemble those found in Final Fantasy XI to allow players to create avatars similar to ones created in Final Fantasy XI. Group play has been de-emphasized, and now solo and group play have been balanced. Weapon use will alter "character development".

    final-fantasy-xiv-online-20091008100336382_640w.jpg

The Job System, also known as The Armoury System. By wielding different weapons and even crafting tools, players will be able to take on the role of their choosing such as Gladiator or Thaumaturge. In general, the different roles are divided into four disciplines: Disciples of War (masters of combat arms), Disciples of Magic (self-explanatory), Disciples of the Land (gatherers of material resources and students of the natural order), and Disciples of the Hand (crafters who invest their creative ingenuity in synthesis and industry). The crafting system will be a part of the Armory System; when a player decides to wield a Blacksmith hammer, their appearance will change and they will become a blacksmith. The same goes for harvesting tools; a player will be able to equip them and their appearance will change. They will then take on the role of a resource gatherer.

or Darksiders... or Mod Nation Racers
Red Dead Redemption looks like it could be good but i dunno...y'all gonna have to school me on Darksiders and Modnation Racers though.

Modnation Racers = Mario Kart meets Little Big Planet

Kart style fun racing with the customization (characters and tracks) like LBP.

I got a feeling RDR is gonna be epic. heavy Rain epic.

Darksiders is like ? of War meets The Legend of Zelda. Look it up on youtube. It seems pretty promising.
And Mod Nation Racers is a kart racer but its customizable like Little big Planet. Make your own tracks, racers, karts, etc. and share them online

So, just post what 360 games you looking out for 2010 then. TS posted what he is looking forward to. You do the same if you don't agree.

I had a key for mod nation racers but it never worked at all, won't accept the key. Sucks, because it looks cool.

Why didn’t you include PS3 in the title? I could have avoided this thread altogether.
