This quote from another thread been on my mind a bit, so I was wondering...

Do people really feel that way? Like they wouldn't marry someone because of their color, even if you loved her/him?

For me, it's just a stupid thing to say, like you let something as trivial as race get in the way from like love or a relationship or even marriage...

It's just stupid man I'd marry an eskimo if I loved her who cares?

Although eskimo-chicks are rarely greatlooking though of course but you get my draft...

    I wouldn't do any of the above with a White woman. I don't feel close to them, I can't disassociate them from my experience with 99% of them. Even if one had a nice personality, I don't trust them. They're not physically ugly but appearance isn't enough to make me attracted to someone. I try not to dislike anyone, though (honestly).

    I can't relate to disliking White people because of what their ancestors, or other White people they don't descend from, have done to yours.

    I would prefer white hispanic over straight european but I would with no qualms.I like hispanic,light-black,and white in that order...

    Well it is very much indeed relevant because the reason for most seem to be the white ancestors that were slave-owners and if they aren't like MOST WHITE PEOPLE aren't (counting worldwide). then there should be no problem

    I have dated interracially, and I was always self-conscious with the cultural differences between me and my non-black counterpart.

    I wondered ? like "what if he only just wants his first piece of black ? ? What if his parents don't like black people? What if he looks at me funny when i wrap my hair at night and tie it up with a silk scarf? What if he thinks the razor bumps I get from time to time are weird?" etc

    Things like that would keep me from getting fully comfortable with a non-black man, and you have to be fully comfortable with someone to marry them.

    If you're talking about me, I'm prejudiced (as most people probably are, to some degree), I'd just prefer not to waste my energy resenting anyone.

    I doubt most White Americans descend from slave owners. Some Black Americans might descend from (Black) slave owners.

    Standards is alright I guess not everybody can be attracted to all races, I was just interested in knowing why people would be thinking like that and I did get some responses, it wasn't me really saying you all should go out and find a white woman pronto or nothing
