w.e.b. dubois prophetically wrote that "the problem of the Twentieth Century is the problem of the color-line". in 2010, with a decade in the hole, is this still the defining problem of america?

In a way, Blacks still have troubles getting jobs, the communities still recieve nothing. Hispanics are starting to become the 1950's black. I think its more of an issue of Poor/Rich rather than color but there is still the color factor at work also.

This is the root. If this realized everything else falls in to place. -

this is valid. predictions on how much easily accessible oil is left vary, but, if it is all gone in 10 to even 50 years, alternative energy will def play a major role this century.
however
with the continual education gaps and increased poverty in failing cities, disproportionately people of color suffer. with the disproportionate rates of incarceration, people of color suffer. with the disproportionate rates of who owns what, people of color, etc..
so the problem of the color-line yet exists in the twenty-first century, i guess the consensus is that it is not the defining problem of the twenty-first century? -
My final exam was on a dubios article .. Great writer man. An IMO these issue's of race arent new, I think we have a false hope. Will there ever be equality ? Ever ? I mean its unlikely. Just because those chains around our necks, and the plantation is gone it doesnt mean we're free. I mean dam its never been blacks over whites, unless in this following century the minority becomes the majority but ehh ..
An Im dominican, Spaniards came to my ancestors land an ? killed forced christianity, an these folks where white of course .. there's a pattern here. yo the history of the world , race etc . Its all blahzi blah. All you can do is question the past the present an the future. -

Why consider it a problem when we have technology that dont depend on fossile fuel etc? The only ones hurting beause of this are rich oliarchs and mainly multinational companies/ the problem of the 21th century is not the lack of CERTAIN natural resources but the way we handle the shift to other technology, will we let the extremely commerical/kapitalistic establisments/markets etc ? us up? will we continue to shoot ourselves in our own feet disturbing human progress? will commercialism rule over what is rightsous?
? english grammar btw. -
