They're both stellar pieces of hip hop art..Infamous was more gritty ? with cold veins..It had a cold murderous aura to it..heavier basslines

Were Illmatic was more poetic calm but menacing..More soulful..More beyond the scope of hoodlife

Illmatic takes this one,but infamous isn't too far behind it

Great comparison. Both are certified classic and neither have a weak track. But I'm a big Mobb fan, so you already know. Illmatic was better lyrically, but Infamous gets my vote cause it had more classic songs. To this day, Start Of Your Ending is still one of the coldest intros I ever heard.

Party Over, Eye For An Eye, Survival Of The Fittest, Qu Hectic, Trife Life, Up North Trip, Give Up The Goods, Right Back At You, Cradle To The Grave, Shook Ones, Start Of Your Ending..... just too many classics.

Queen's Get The Money long time no cash
I'm caught up in the hustle when the guns go blast
The fool retaliated so I had to think fast
Pull out my heat first, he pull out his heat last
Now who the ? you think is livin' to this day?
I'm tryin' to tell these young ? crime don't pay
They looked at me and said "Queen's ? don't play.
Do your thing, I'll do mine, kid.. stay outta my way".
It's type hard tryna survive in New York state
Can't stop till I'm eatin' off a platinum plate
Po-Po comes around and tries to relocate me
Lock me up for ever but they can't deflate me
Cause... having cash is highly addictive
Especially when you're used to havin' money to live with
I thought, step back look at my life as a whole
Ain't no love it seems the devil done stole my soul
I'm out for delfia, selfia, P's not helpin' ya
I'm tryna get this Lexus up, and plus a cellular
Yo Big Noyd! (What up cuzin'?) I can't cope
With all these crab ? tryna shorten my rope

I probably bumped Infamous more at the time it was dropped, but Illmatic is just full of gems till this day.

Both crazy albums but Illmatic got my vote.

yeah they both did alot for new york hip hop and had vivid narratives that made you feel like you were in queensbridge. i know one thing, well never see albums like that again.

Aint that the truth. They just don't make em like that no more. But I could bang both albums. Just timeless.

Not a hard decision for me....The Infamous got this hands down. Lyrically both albums are dead even but the production on Infamous trumps Illmatic. and besides, there's not one skippable track on it unlike Illmatic. "Halftime" was garbage!

good comparison, both are undeniable classics - i had to vote for Infamous though because it's probably gotten more play from me in the long run and it's just so ridiculously underrated. how so is beyond me but somehow in this day and age it's increasingly forgotten and the Mobb is slept on by youngins.
