The problems continue to plague the rollout of the new Xbox 360 Dashboard. The new update continues to hit Xbox 360s, but we've been receiving reports of various problems from users, ranging from video issues to bricked consoles. One of the most predominant issues is that some Xbox LIVE accounts are not able to connect to the service. As of this writing, my own Xbox 360 is unable to connect to LIVE.

Microsoft's Major Nelson took to his twitter feed, stating that they are "aware of the issue" that gamers are experiencing connecting to LIVE, and is directing them to the Xbox LIVE status page for restoration updates on the service. If you're experiencing issues getting your 360 online, keep an eye on the status page for further updates.

BTW, no update has bricked one PS3 console, so it doesn't matter if it's a group in Cambodia who has bricked 360s from this update, the fact remains the 360 sucks and stays losing.

On december 6th i had trouble connecting but i figured they were in the middle of the update, i got connected a couple hours later and been working great since.
