There 2 of my all time favorites but I just think nas is better all around. He's lyrically biggies got him in flow and charisma.
Illmatic>>ready to die
I think big could've went on to be better but he was taken too early sow ell never know.

And that's your opinion,so what's your point? It's a fact though that Illmatic did not have the impact as RTD or LAD.

I remember when they both dropped and RTD had a waaaaaaay bigger buz.

This is why I don't respect the average Nas fan.Yall are always trying to force your love for Nas on everyone else.Look Nas is not the all be all that there is to Rap.? I think that jay,Ra,GRap,KRS,Chuck D,Scarface,Ice Cube,Wu-Tang and Even 98 DMX made better music than Nas.So yes to me Biggie was better or I would rather listen to LAD over any Nas album. If Nas is so great then why do you people always try to prove to everyone that they should be in love with him? Stop it,? is wack.

Nas isn't my favorite rapper. He ain't the be all end all he's just really good. He's had some good and bad moments, bur he's one of the all time greats.

Based on overall body of work Nas got him but comparing them when they were both alive then Big got him.

Just an opinion, like everyone else's.

But the more popular opinion is that Illmatic is the greateast 40 minutes of hiphop history. And I don't think any one of those dudes music, or influence stands up to Nas'.

Since Big passed earlier than we all wanted, you can only compare their first two albums.
Illmatic and Ready to Die are classics.

Life After Death should've been one single disc, but still a great cd.
It Was Written was 14 tracks. If you took the best 14 tracks from Life After Death> It Was Written.

Big>Nas in the slightest of margins in my book

truth be told.... illmatic had all da hype around it, nas was a household name in hiphop before even dropping his debut
-he had da greatest producers at da time ready to lace his lp
-da source gave him a 5 mics
-he was labeld da next rakim
and with all dat said...R2D came out 6 months later and da rest was history

    in 95' da source awards
biggie sweep da show winning all 4nomination over nas
    -new artist of da year
    -lyrist of da year
    -live performer of da year
-and da biggest of dem all 'album of da year'

    biggie>nas

We can go by catalogue being that Biggie only made 2 albums, so I would compare Nas first 2 albums to Biggies, and I think Nas is lyrically better than Biggie

    "Nas > biggie"?

    That's a no-brainer!

And both have one classic which came out at the same time. And on that scale Illmatic > Ready to Die

And going by sophomore album and discounting other Nas stuff, then it's It Was Written > Life After Death

So Nas got it on lock
