yes, we all know that Tom Hanks was terrific as Forrest Gump, and Denzel portrayed Malcolm X very well.

but what are some other roles that you dont hear people praising that really struck a chord with you. (maybe these actors you think of even won an Oscar, but they arent regularly brought up when amongst ppl you know)

Daniel Day Lewis as Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York. GREATNESS. probably one of the best villians i've ever seen.

Jaqoin Phoenix in Gladiator. Amazing.

Anyway, TOm Hanks in Cast Away. I thought he did a hell of a job being the only one in the movie for 95 percent of it. And acting along side a volleyball. I wont lie. I felt sorry for him when he lost Wilson. THats when I knew he was DAT ACTOR.

^ oh yeah forgot about that performance. Defiantly one of the best.

Whoever that was that played the serial killer Francis Dollarhide in RED DRAGON. He owned that role.

    Got this line from IMDB:

Francis Dolarhyde: I am the Dragon. And you call me insane. You are privy to a great becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun. You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing correctly. Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe.

I thought Mekhi Phifer was dope in Paid In Full.

    Peirce Bronson in Seraphim Falls.

John Jarret (Australian actor) in Wolf Creek.....(I mean damn, the guy was on Playschool and then played Australia's most infamous serial killer in that movie).

and yeah Emile Hirsh is dope.

He really deserves an Oscar. Hopefully he won't end up like Scorsese and win for one of his lesser good performances

Yeah good call, Jean Reno is good. He hasn't really done that great since. Natalie Portman was amazing in that movie and Gary Oldman always does a nice job.
