How Hot Will It Get This Summer?

This winter had been very mild and looking over the forecast I see that the temps this week in the South at least are going to get up into the 80's.
Am I the only one concerned about this? I have heard that 2012 is the solar maximus where the heat/energy coming from the sun will be very strong. If this is the case will it cause widespread power outtages similiar to what happened in california a couple of years ago?

good question, obviously we dont have a resident meteorologist on the IC but im guessing it will indeed be very hot
