Report: Nintendo to Show Mario Wii U at E3

Miyamoto also working on smaller but important Wii U projects.
Shigeru Miyamoto has implied that a new Mario game for Wii U will be revealed at this year's E3.
The news came in an interview Miyamoto gave to Spanish newspaper El Mundo (via GAF).
The passage in question roughly translates as:
"[Miyamoto] anticipates that at E3, the largest exhibition of video games, held in June in Los Angeles, Nintendo will launch a new Super Mario for this platform, which will combine the TV screen with the remote." (Google Translate)
In the same interview, Miyamoto also said that he was currently focussed on smaller but important projects for Wii U, Pikmin 3 and Luigi's Mansion 2 for 3DS.
Miyamoto also revealed that wants to do more with the idea behind Wii Music. Although he acknowledged the game's disappointing reception, saying "It is always sad when something does not sell as well as expected," he still believes there to be a good idea in there somewhere, and revealed that when something underperforms Nintendo "usually try to work the best idea or at least take it up and concretize it from an angle different for use in another title."
What do you think about Mario as a possible Wii U launch title?

what an orginal concept
-
If they have a nice catalogue of original exclusives......I would cop.....and no motion controls.....I will never play super Mario galaxy for that very reason
-
As far as developers go for the wii-u, Nintendo is the one to sell everybody on the tablet controller, so this should be interesting.

UPDATE 2 (4:00 P.M. PST): Nintendo has confirmed that both Pikmin and Mario will make appearances at E3 2012 on Wii U.
Nintendo released the following statement regarding Pikmin:

Yeah I still don't understand that. During Pokemnons peak all they released for the consoles was that arena garbage and that lame photo game. They could have made a ? ton of money with a decent game.

Why does Nintendo insist on ruining E3 for it's fanboys? Couldn't wait a month? -

LOL. There is a difference between announcing "a" Mario game is coming (which is not news and even still, rare for Nintendo to do)...and announcing the game, title, story, box art, trailer, release window...and then saying there will be even more info in 10 more days. And Sony does it every year. This will all be rehashed during their E3 conference, so why not just wait until you have center stage? Create some hype. You know, so people might actually buy their games for a change? Anyway, wasn't trying to offend anyone. I would've thought Sony owners would agree. Whats the point of E3 for you all? But I guess the SDF takes offense to everything, lol.

I thought Sunshine was dope...nh

Uh you can really launch a new nintendo system w/o Mario christening it. Not to have a Mario game blessing a new Nintendo system is blasphemy.
Sion I'm on it bruh. -
