The thing with Nicki is, there was no need for her to sell out. She had the female rapper lane on lock and could of milked the ? for 10 years, but she got greedy and tried to step into the Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry lane.
If i was a label exec right now, i would be looking for a female rapper the complete opposite of Nicki and pushing her. The lane is wide open. -

First off let me say i ain't happy nicki fell off, i can never be happy with a black person falling off. it seems like some people in here are happy about this news.
with that said, i agree with what alot of people said in this thread. she got what she deserved. nicki tried to crossover and be more "pop". the grammies performance killed her momentum. the super bowl performance didn't help her at all, and she didn't have great promotion for this album, all that combined screwed her over. and that video posted by lab baby showed nicki's true colors when it comes to where she wants her career to go and how much she actually cares about THE MUSIC part of her career.
it's clear nicki is trying to spring board her career into something more than rap, but the hip-hop consumers aren't buying it.
Bottom line, when you put out an half ass product, you will get half ass sales. -

Im pretty sure lasers was lupe's best selling album. But only because the fans worked so hard to even get it out, now lupe has more creative control over F&L2 -

The age of selling out for a quick buck is coming to an end. Nicki album actually woulda been aight had it not been for the second half. She might still go platinum by the end of the year though

Exactly....she should have waited at least until her 3rd or 4th album to switch it up.....same ? happen to chamillionaire.....he switched up too soon and it cost him....now it just seems forced....not everyone can be pitbull and flo rida.....they aint sellin albums but them singles are topping the charts....thats they're lane...Nicki's trying too hard....
