Eh, it's kind of sounding like a 1 person Action RPG right now -_-

Lightning is the only character they bothered talking about.

Other than that, they talked alot about this World Driven system, basically there will be day and night in the game, and seasons, and they were saying something about how events in the real world (social media) will have affects in the game.

They need to bring the FF7 crew back. Hell if they remade FF7 with todays graphics, id go to the midnight release.

"Perhaps the most interesting feature of LR:FFXIII's battle system, however, is the new "Overclock" ability. Overclock allows Lightning to slow the flow of combat for everyone but herself, gaining the upper hand against difficult foes. The tradeoff, however, is that using Overclock costs time.

And time is of the essence in this game. Just as FFXIII spanned 13 days (revealed through flashbacks sprinkled throughout the story), LR:FFXIII also takes place across 13 days. In this case, however, that period of time serves as a countdown to an apocalypse. In just shy of two weeks, the world will end, and Lightning's goal is to prevent it.

This may sound awfully reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, but I think a better comparison might be to Valkyrie Profile or Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. As in Valkyrie Profile -- a game created by tri-Ace, who incidentally co-developed FFXIII-2 -- Square tells us that if you reach the end of the 13-day countdown without having beaten the game, you may be thrust into the final battle regardless. On the other hand, you may also be able to start over, potentially carrying across skills and materials (the developers have yet to determine the specifics)"

Yeah......This is sounding more like a $14.99 used game buy.

I hate that, "you have to beat this game in x amount of time, or start over at day 1"

lol @ them even chasing off the people that liked XIII and XIII-2

The game will be some form a Action RPG with an atb gauge, and there will be a countdown timer like Majora's Mask.

    *disgust*

Not buying, sounds like a mash-up of X-2 and Majora's Mask. Two games I hated.

    http://www.neoseeker.com/news/20668-new-lightning-returns-final-fantasy-xiii-details-emerge-game-is-30-complete/

The details from the Japanese magazine confirms that Lightning Returns, which will be the last entry in the "Lightning saga", is currently 30% complete, and the fact that Square Enix has said the game will feature just one ending. The full list of details can be viewed below -- potential spoilers ahead.

The game is currently 30% complete
This will be Lightning's last game and will end with a happy ending. The game has just one ending.
The first FFXIII was story driven, meaning that the story pulled the player along. FFXIII-2 was player driven, meaning players selected the story. Lightning Returns is World Driven, meaning players have to consider how they interact with the changing world.
The game's in-game time works out to one day being the equivalent of one to two hours of real time. There will be increases and decreases in time.
The game is meant to be played and cleared multiple times. The volume is not such that it will take many tens of hours to clear once.
People from XIII-2 haven't died. Because of the effects of the chaos (I'm not sure if this is the proper English word), people have stopped aging and don't get old.
The Novus world has four continents, two natural and two city-type.
Depending on your actions, the remaining life of the world could decrease, and the game could end before the 13 day limit.
There are some times when helping someone will decrease the life of the world.
Defeating some enemies and clearing some quests will increase the life of the world.
Lightning is all by herself in battle, allowing you to concentrate more than when you had to control a party.
Lightning has become a considerably more refined person.
You can freely move around during battle. Some elements of the battle system are timing-based.
The battle system is close to action. There's an ATB gauge.
During battle, you don't select menu commands. Instead, you select abilities which have been assigned to buttons.Hope will give guidance to Lightning via wireless com.
The city has clocks everywhere showing the constant progression of time.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is due for a release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime during 2012.

So basically she goes back in time, fixes everything and they all live happy ever after...

Great. Now I don't need to play the game. Saves me $60.

No, this game takes place hundreds of years into the future, but in XIII-2 chaos was released, and one of the side effects was that everyone stopped aging.
