And I mean actually checking for albums and and what's going on with music in general.
I gonna get ? on for this but I'm pretty late into the music thing. Didn't start getting into rap like that until about when wiz was blowing up with Black and Yellow 2 years ago(yes, I'm young. Only 18). Before that, I only followed to mainstream hits through the radio. I actually bought my first CD back in October when GKMC came out(yes, I liked Kendrick that much). Everyone else my age got their first CDs somewhere back in the mid-late 00s. That's how late I was.
How did you guys first start messing with rap?

When I was 11 my mom( no I'm not posting her pics) bought me a CD player, jayz dynasty album and the source album(the one with dmx party up) for Christmas. she started buying me albums pretty much every month. didn't have a computer so I had my friends burn me albums. like straight outta Compton, all eyes on me, 36 chambers etc all the 90s and 80s stuff. then when I got a job I ended up buying most of those albums

Around 93, I listened to rap before then Including Cube, of course all of us from that era were forced to listen to MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. But it was something about listening to Cube putting words together on "Really Doe" Cubes word play made me a fan. I guess thats why I prefer lyrical miracle rappers to this day.

I have a aunt that was into hip hop heavy so I was into it at an early age. I'll say I was around 13 when I started to really buy my own music.
