Went a lot when I was younger. Both my mom & my dads fam are very religious. As I've gotten older Ive strayed from organized religion. I believe in a higher power but I don't think he cares if I call him Jehovah, Allah, or whatever these other religions are calling their ? these days.

Last time I went was a few months ago though. Only b/c I was home visiting & I didn't wanna hear my moms mouth so I grinned & bared it.

People years in the future are going to laugh at us.

I remember being in high school history laughing at the fact the Inca's used to worship the sun...

At least they could see the sun.

    Sun>The Bible and relegious dogmas

All of us could live without that bible but NONE of us would survive without the Sun

You're laughing at the Incas but their overstanding of nature is more superior than relegious doctrine

OK for starters I'm not catching feelings so forgive me for this long ?

    1) I never said I believed in any one deity. It doesn't matter what you believe in as long as you benefit from it in a positive way. But your too hateful and close minded to realize that it never mattered whether or not Jesus was white or black or if the damn Egyptians were some Asians. Its all about whether or not this doctrine you follow helps to move on to a better place. the hate you show or should i say the lack of empathy you show is not a good sign man. I'm not judging you because i don't know you that's just what I'm getting from your post

    2) Everyone needs help at some point in life who are you to judge where they get it from?

Now the only time I'm in Chapel is family occasions like weddings, etc.

Just out of curiosity, what made you retrieve your faith? and why did you become an atheist?..

lol, no money. we mostly put fruit and flowers on the altar to thank to the Buddha for his teachings and blessings from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. It's kind of like the collection basket at Christian churches.

I turned atheist because I simply didnt believe. I was listening to stories thinking... What sort of acid were these folk on that they're hallucinating all this ? ? Lol.

Then after a death of a close relative I wanted to believe in heaven and ? , etc, (my family are all very religious). I threw myself into it, almost forcing myself to believe, although there's always been a ? in the back of my mind.

By trying to seek answers I ended up believing less and less, now I'm at the agnostic/athiest stage.

    Lol, oh ok..

@ the bolded: the same thing happened to me.. but I began distancing myself from Christianity when I started looking into the three major monotheistic religions and NGE in the 9th grade, and my friend being a Black Hebrew Israeliite definitely influenced me.. and seeing how those religions affected Black people definitely affected me as well..

I went to parochial schools up until my 8th grade year. Every Sunday, I went to church with my grandmother. I felt condemned because I was not living by the word, so I stopped.

Got depressed, and felt like something was missing, so I started up again. I slowly became jaded because of the sheep like mentality I witnessed and the wonton display of frivolity. It began to dawn on me that seeking purpose, and a feeling of being can only be found in one's self. Being blessed is more about the actions taken by you, and not by prayer. Having a connection to something, in my opinion, is more about your own self awareness.

My reason for not going became clear to me while having a discussion with a female associate. Her marriage was in shambles due to cheating and lying. He was on tape butt ? another female raw, and she said 'But ? is going to work this out. Pastor told me so.' I said out loud, 'How in the ? is that gonna happen?' By putting her faith into something that was force-fed to her instead of believing in herself made something click in my head. I knew then that going to church just wasn't for me.

It ain't hate..You're misinterpreting hate because you can't hear the tone I'm delivering the words in

And it does matter..Because when people use relegion to create racism, classism,War, violence,Slavery, abuse of women, thats when it becomes a abomination

It does matter if the messiah was white..Why would a black man whose been proven to be created first on the planet, bow down to gentically reccessive caucasian? Thats wrong..Thats whats wrong with this society, theres no respect for the order of how nature designed things on this earth..A baby should never have to die in war because its family were caught in the mist of some relegious conflict involving some ? that hasn't been proven by facts..That child doesn't deserve to suffer,it doesn't even have a concept of what ? is until we program relegion in it's head

Word of advice..Do your research..Don't believe no one, including myself

Do your research and connect the dots

Influence on hip-hopAs Dr. York, he was active as a vocalist and music producer in Brooklyn before he was forced to leave New York for Georgia in 1993. During this time, his Nuwaubian teachings did have an effect on hip hop and Black culture in New York. Among the hip hop artists influenced by York listed by Heimlich were Doug E. Fresh, Afrika Bambaataa, Posdnuos from De La Soul, Prodigy from Mobb Deep, and MF Doom[7] Afrika Bambaataa donated a red fez with the legend Proud Nuwaubian to the Smithsonian for their upcoming Hip-Hop Won't Stop: The Beat, the Rhymes, the Life exhibit at Washington's National Museum of American History.[22]

Among the indie hip hop ranks, there are Nuwaubians who perform what they call Nu-? , such as Daddi Kuwsh, Twinity, Nefu Amun Hotep, 9thScientist, Scienz Of Life, Ntelek, Jedi Mind Tricks and The Lost Children of Babylon.[23]

Other artists influenced by York during the 1990s (while already based in Georgia) include Amun-Ra of the group Pure Energy, Da Bush Babees Roboctopus and the Reggae group Born Jamericans, Erykah Badu, Andre 3000, OutKast partner Big Boi, and Khujo of Goodie Mob, Common, Nas, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes, India.Arie and Musiq. The latter spent his early adolescence in the Putnam County area, and pictures of York can be seen pinned to his jacket in the video of his 2002 single "Don't Change.” Underground Rap Artist and Wu Tang Clan affiliate Killah Priest has also dedicated a mixtape to York.

In an article for Honor Nation, A. L. JakeAl Reum speculated that the controversial Native American kitsch costumes and props from OutKast’s 2004 Grammy Awards performance were inspired by the Nuwaubian belief about the Native Americans being "Moors" in origin.[24]

I was forced to go to church when I was a child, never was cool with that ? . By the time I was in middle school the brainwashing of my cousins was complete.

They began to go to church willingly, speak the good word, and catch the "holy spirit" in church".

While I was sitting in the back like, "you ? is crazy."

I remember one time in chruch, at one of those revival things, there was this fat ? with tiny legs, always in a wheelchair. The guest minister or whatever, that they bring to those things was talking about how he was going to heal him.

Anyway, the minsiter did his little shucking and jiving, and laid hands on tiny legs head, talking about how he was healed and basically forced him to get up to take a few steps.

Tiny legs never came to church again after that day.

I'm pretty sure he broke one of his legs.
