NaSthis is a tough choice for me since both emcees are in my top 5 but
its
1.
2.Nas
3.
4.Rakim
5.
So I'm siding with NaS
Flow- Rakim
Delivery- NaS

NaSgot damn nas in the lead already
-
NaSI think Rakim only has Nas on impact with his trickle-down influences on much of the game. Other than that, Nasir is that dude
-
_Menace_....you wrong for this thread, bruh..I'm taking my time deciding this.
-
NaSI gave it to Nas because he has a larger amount of albums. Usually I'd say quality over quantity, but Nas has a pretty high quality on the majority of his albums. Plus Nas has a bit more of a livelier delivery, Rakim sounds like he's bored with his rhymes, or he's unhappy.
Tough competition though. -

He was wrong for Jigga vs Cube and Pac.
We gotta live with it.

Nas longevity & consistency is really the deciding factor. Dude still spitting like its 1996, he still sharp, crisp and had the ability to adapt to whatever is going on the game.
Rakim will have bars forever though. He got classics, he got sons outchea and in a way Nas is one of them, but Ra couldn't adapt and has become inconsistent since his days with Eric B. The bars are there but the sound is old (not just the beats but the flows too). -

lol its my fault the people have spoken... Jay has one more shot... I put him against Nas/Cube/and Pac
I would put him against BIG but that wont Pan out right... might need to match him with 50 -
NaSPaid In Full is the most influential Rap album ever (top-two at the very least along with Straight Outta Compton), and Eric B. & Rakim dropped two classics after that (Let the Rhythm Hit Em is their best album imo) and a great fourth album with Don't Sweat the Technique.. but I'm going with Nas..
But while I'm at it..
Borrower:
I'm the N the A to the S-I-R
If I wasn't, I must've been Escobar - Nas, You're the Man and Got Urself A Gun..
Lender:
I'm the R the A to the K-I-M
If I wasn't, then why would I say I am? - Rakim, As the Rhyme Goes On..
Streets of NY - Alicia Keys featuring Nas and Rakim..

That^ song is like the third installment of the NY State of Mind series.. classic.. -

Pac against Nas. -
NaSAs long Kane doesn't get his thread, I'm good.
It would be worse than Ja, Hov and Rakim.
Put together. -
Rakim AllahNo Rakim= No Nas
That was my deciding factor. Rakim birthed Nas' style + I am being a tad bias as Rakim is my #1 -
NaSKane vs. G Rap
-
NaSeven tho rakim got him flow wise
i gotta give it to nas, no bias even tho he my favorite ? -

I know because Ra's rhyming DNA is in Nas' whole style, practically the majority of most deep, cryptic 5 Percenters and serious emceeing..the epitome of flow and voice.. but considering the criteria of both artists, they're in different generations. Arggggghhhh....

Pretty much my criteria right above. -

Just because Ra birthed Nas' style, I don't think that's a reason to put Ra over Nas. Since it's Ra, it's different, but I don't think the originator should necessarily be over the student. Otherwise people would have guys like Jaz-O in their top 5 instead of Jay-Z -

I consider BDK to be the father of Jay's style not Jaz-O -

That doesn't mean ? .
Influence =/= talent.
Even this isn't in Rakim's case. -
-
NaSNas is the greatest lyricist to ever live
