Good drop ? , this song is pretty good.. the beat gives me a "Harlem Nights" vibe..

"Used to smoke nickels in nicholas park, I pay the piper (paid to pipe her) the pickle she use to pick apart."

im reading up on him now, listening to his tape 10 Day. crazy, he 19, signed, and creative....i could easily see him crossing over a la Kendrick Lamar or Kid Cudi

This is nice. I like the jazzy feel to it.

Chance killed it
He much better at what he do than Bada$$ imo.... was never fully sold on dude -
Chance sound like Em on this. Don't like the track tbh. Joey need some song writing classes.

Joey Badass can rap for sure....he has good songs like "Wavves" which could be a single honestly. I just hate his dickriders and his "bring the 90s back gimmick". he's rough around the edges, 1999 is a great listen but he needs some direction and development.
on Chance, i listened to some of his tape and he's much more polished. I have a feeling he can blow up if he puts wrok on -
yeah Joey can rap but there are rappers out there who rap better and still make good songs.... I really got put off by his bring back the 90's gimmick too.. comes off as corny to me. You can still rap well and not try to bring back the 90s, once Joey gets that I'll probably be able to listen to his ? more.
Wavves is a good song though -
I have no issue with his sound or Raps his song making skills isn't that good tho. Especially compared to his peers ie Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers. He's still young but he needs some mentoring.

he's been in studio with Q Tip, maybe Tip can help him out. i have a feeling he's tryna replicate Illmatic (been in the studio with Q Tip/Premier/Pete Rock etc) for his album. -

A replica is still a replica he needs to do him. Q Tip would be good because he can give him that feel but make it modern.

It's safe to say whenever Joey debuts, the production is gonna be on point. We can say that right?
