The Cistern Painting Code (QUJIKPHIUEEEKMJQUJ) is a code that can be found in ? of War: Ascension. Solving the code yields an image of the Earth and the words "WHEN THE EARTH STOPS, THE JOURNEY BEGINS..." This may be a hint or tease about the next ? of War game.
The painting can be found in a side room during The Cistern and The Cistern (pt. 2). To view it, walk up to it and press R1. The code is accompanied by an image of a castle on a mountain and these words:

Changing the language of the game changes the string of letters that gets displayed:

GAF board members have cracked the code using the various languages [1]:
English: SUN BIRD BULL LION SUN
French: SOLEIL OISEAU BOEUF LION SON SOLEIL
Portuguese: SOL PASSARO TOURO LEAO SOL
Spanish: SOL AVE TORO LEON SOL
Each letter corresponds to another letter in the alphabet, the Q represents an S for example. So if you count the number of letters between Q and S, applying this rule to all letters, you can figure it out.
Application
There are symbols on the ground in the area which correspond to the translation. If you stand on them and press R1 in the order of the code, the painting and the prophecy change.

Isn't Ascension a prequel? What if the Prophecy is just talking about the other games? I mean, where the ? can the story go after 3? The story was already bone dry to begin with. Having Kratos go off and ? other Pantheons would be a stretch of fucktastic proportions.

well the earth stopping could mean that all gods have died, like they did in GoW 3. I dont believe Kratos is dead anyway. So it makes sense that they'd go into other eras with more gods.

This game isn't Marvel U. Kratos has expressed no beef with other gods in these games that I recall. Olympus's Pantheon ? him; he killed them all for the most part. In the context of the game, trying to conjure up a worthwhile reason for him to take the slaughter elsewhere is the stretch. -
That looks like Mt Olympus to me and the prediction is what happens in GOW3.

This game isn't Marvel U. Kratos has expressed no beef with other gods in these games that I recall. Olympus's Pantheon ? him; he killed them all for the most part. In the context of the game, trying to conjure up a worthwhile reason for him to take the slaughter elsewhere is the stretch.
Unless the other gods brought the fight to him ........ seeing what happened in Olympus they feared if he wanted to take them out too he could so they try to destroy him now that he's weak.
