'Transformers 4' Plot Unveiled by Michigan Film Office
By Greg Gilman | The Wrap – 3 hours ago
Thanks to the Michigan Film Office, the plot synopsis for Michael Bay's "Transformers 4" was unveiled on Wednesday.
The story details -- involving "an ancient, powerful Transformer menace" and a group of scientists trying to harness the technological power from previous transforming aliens -- were slipped when announcing that the Paramount production was approved for a tax incentive to film in Detroit. A Michigan Film Office press release reads:
"As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon,' Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues."

Bay has been tight lipped about any plot details, other than being clear that the movie is not a reboot and it picks up four years after the events that took place in "Dark of the Moon."
With Shia LaBeouf out of the picture, Mark Wahlberg is playing the lead human role in the sequel, while Bay cast Irish (and mostly unknown) actor Jack Reynor in January.
"The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast," Bay wrote in the casting announcement. "This 'Transformers' will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy."
"Transformers 4" will be the third film in the franchise to shoot scenes in Detroit, making 2009's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" the only exception. The latest production was awarded a $20 million incentive on nearly $82 million projected in-state expenditures.

Well that's the one good thing about using a source material that has been heavily merchandised in the past. There are no shortage of decepticons to replace all those that were destroyed. Hell, given what's been revealed, I wouldn't be surprised if they came back with a whole new squad of Autobots too. -
i want to see the dinobots
-
I wanna see a transformers movie thats on cybertron during the war with no humans in it. Wanna see all these guys in their purest form and all talking.
-
They bringing hot rod aka rodimus prime?
-
Unicron would be stupid since he only obsorbs machines and Earth is organic. Also with Cybertron destroyed Aubots have no reason to fight him.I am sure it wont make sense like the first 3.
