Whether you hate him or love him, you can't deny his impact and legacy in hip hop. He came in the game and was able to make connections with DJ Jam Master Jay, and Trackmasters and was even in considerations to be a member of the Firm. He finally caught on in 1999 dropping by How To Rob, he seemed to have been building a buzz and got a deal with Columbia records, in which he recorded his debut album Power of a Dollar, the album was never released due to 50 Cent getting shot and the heat surrounding the incident. Luckily he survived and reignited his buzz in 2002 with a string of mixtapes notably 50 Cent is the future. He caught the ear of Eminem and was signed to Shady records. Then the rest is history.

But what if he never survived the 9 shots how would things be different today?

eminem's popularity would've started to slow down.
lloyd banks wouldn't have the PLK on the mixtape circuit.
hov,nas and killa cam would still beef for the NY crown.

Artists that would have never been heard of

Lloyd Banks- Talented artist but maybe he never gets on

    Tony Yayo- ditto for Yayo

Young Buck- After spending years with Cash Money and Juvenile maybe he would have ended up as one of those disposable artists that we never heard about.

Artists that would have taken a longer time to be heard

The Game- He had been signed to Aftermath since 2003, but since Game was a raw artist that needed development, he was placed under 50 Cent to help him with his project. Maybe without 50 Cent Game would have eventually developed and blew up by 2006/2007.

all what game needed was lazy ass ,executing producing albums ,non making beats on the same albums is to give him a lil time and concern and he would still blow.escpecially when no one repping for the coast.
plus jim jones gave game an opportunity putting him on certified gangstaz remix when nobody knew who he was

Yeah the mixtape game would still be recycled verses on new beats or remixes. 50 changed the mixtape game forever.

Subsequently, Wayne probably would have peaked in popularity by Carter II and would be completely irrelevant right now. I can't imagine Wayne having that 05-09 run without the Dedication series...

Muthafuckas still don't understand how big 50 was in hip-hop. Because of internet fragmentation and piracy, I don't think anyone will ever be as big as fifty was unless labels learn how to control the music and make money again...

    Prolly so

cuz Gucci Mane has played jus as much of a role in shaping how "mixtapes" are made

while 50 was making songs w/ hooks & whatnot, he was still beat jacking

Gucci did the same thing, except he didn't jack beats.. & if you listen to "mixtapes" nowadays you rarely hear people jackin for beats (if at all)

Aftermath is a ? graveyard outside of Eminem. Game would've been in the same boat at Rakim, Truth Hurts, Eve, and Busta Rhymes.

Jam Master Jay might still be alive, Steve Stoute too.

Olivia wouldn't be running around New York with a false sense of entitlement.

Benzino might have succeded in establishing a worthwhile discussion on racism in Hip Hop without Mr. "I'm the Black friend that white people refer to when denying their racist ways".

Styles P might still be stuck on his label.

Irv Gotti might have ? around and became President of Def Jam like he's always deserved to be.
