Joe Johnson Appreciation Thread: Top 5 Worst Contracts In Sports History

Joe Johnson my fav player. He got his money, can't be mad.
-
Nobody on the nets roster looked even REMOTELY disappointed after losing a GAME 7 on THEIR HOME COURT....
This team, this organization will NEVER be anything unless they blow the team up (yea, I said blow it up) and start from scratch with some leaders and coach that has some heart....
Replace Carlisamo with Thibs and Williams with CP3 or Westbrook, and you have an entirely different organization....
Westbrook after this loss would have stormed off the court in digust, mad at the world....
D will leaves the court, smiling, like he just got done playing a pre-season game and is about to go clubbing or watch the mayweather fight.....
If Prokorov has half the intelligence that his money would suggest, he'd scrap this team ASAP and find some winners
he probably went to party it up with jay-z
you know, since he owns part of the team n all -

How Bobby Bonilla Landed The Luckiest Baseball Contract Ever
http://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/entertainment-articles/bobby-bonilla-baseball-contract/When it came time to negotiate with The Mets, Bobby Bonilla was smart enough to secure one of the most forward thinking contracts in sports history. He knew The Mets wanted him gone but technically owed him $5.9 million. He also knew he had a young son and daughter who would be looking to go to college, and as a 36 year old, he likely had many years worth of life to live. So at this point, Bobby and his agents offered a unique compromise: The Mets would release Bobby to play for another team and they would delay the $5.9 million payment for 11 years, with interest. In essence, The Mets agreed to pay Bobby a total of $29.8 million (instead of $5.9 million) in 25 annual installments of $1.192 million, starting in the year 2011. When he received his first $1.192 payment, Bobby was 48 years old and had not played in the big leagues for 10 years. He has basically guaranteed himself a big league salary every year for the rest of his life. Today Bobby Bonilla makes more per year from the Mets than most of the team's active players! So why would The Mets agree to this deal?
How has no other athlete talked to Bonilla and figured out how to do this ? again? -
nothing new here, I said the the day his contract was signed.
-
wait my bad that's wrong...It's not top 5 all time, that's stupid. It's horrible though

TONY ROMO

He was a good player but he wasn't worth 100 mill -
Still got a year or two to confirm, but Chris Johnson is creeping up on it. Signed that big ass contract and disappeared. At one point in the 2011 season he was averaging like 2.5 yards per carry.

yo dat Bobby Bonilla deal is insane lmao

The guy has all cowboys records watch the NFLN top 100 after show all the media members hate but the actual players like Charles Woodson, Goldson, Warren Sapp, and Gerald McCoy all said that team is nothing without Romo and virtually mocked everyone else for that teams failures. Warren Sapp simply said the guy has over 100 qb rating in the 4th qtr which means he's not throwing int in the 4th and the D gave up 5 4th qtr leads.
Gerald McCoy said if you where watching the game he played against them he was smiling the whole time bc of how weak that oline is and he said romo just keeps making plays. They pretty much stated when you watch film romo is definetly better than Joe Flacco. -

With all that said......How many playoff games have the Cowboys won with Tony Romo under center?....Did you not watch him blow games against the Jets and Lions last season?
And I'm a Proud Cowboy fan... -
Albert Haynesworth prolly signed the worst contract in the history of athletics...you would have thought Elgin Baylor was a Redskin advisor for that crash ? move...

Yeah, that was a ? deal and he made WAY more than he deserved, but fortunately for the Skins it was a NFL contract. So he only saw like a quarter of that 100 millie if I'm not mistaken. -

Tom Brady sucks too he threw 4 int against the Bills... Drew Brees has had more turnovers than Cutler, Peyton Manning is about to break the record for int.
Aaron Rodgers has been bad in the playoffs outside of his SB run and you know why he doesn't throw picks? He has a good oline but he holds onto the ball too long and his oline has called him out on it.

@blackxchild don't try to defend Romo on here; no matter how much truth you tell them they never listen.

The greats throw alot of ints winning a superbowl is very random and shouldn't be out on a QB.
Eli manning said it a few years ago Tom Brady is a better QB now than when he won superbowls.

Before last year Drew Brees had more turnovers than Jay Cutler since Cutler has been a starter. Peyton Manning is on pace to throw more int than any qb of all time. Brett Favre has the most int of all time. Eli Manning has a worse TD to INT ratio than Romo. Ben R has a worse TD to INT ratio than Romo, Joe Flacco has a worse TD to INT ratio than Romo.... Do you want me to keep going?

Winning is a stat... It's a team stat ?
Romo threw 4td 0int band 400 yds against the saints and lost
The season before he threw 3TD 0int 400 yds and lost against the Giants... Those stats should show you he has nothing to do with the losses...
