For the most part of our lives we tend to seek :
- social acceptance ( consuming, clothing, religion)
-parental acceptance (job , women /men)
Through my sexology studies i ve discover and experienced the notion of individuaton.
It has make some change in my view and way of life.

It is all about searching and listening to yourself without being totally introverted.
By example some peole tend to follow their studies accordingly to the wish of their parents. Years later, after inquiring themselves, they have found out that it was not the path they wanted to follow. -
Have you experienced that predicament?

Another example : since the days i chose to drink among people when i REALLY felt like it, some are telling that i am not normal.
So i ask them: are you drinking because everybody around does the same or for you feeling like it?
Response : because everybody does.

Do the people on this site are quick to say no ? to fit in or do they really think like that?
There is a thread in the GNS about sex toys where some dummies are quick to say no ? . -
also do by interrogating your shadow part you manage to know when you are pointing your own flaws by giving them to your interlocutor or the opposite.

Individuation is trying to change your environement by other ways.
Example
People are fat? Boycott the fast food until they provide you with better meals. Learn to cook so you would find more fresh food stuff in your malls and supermarket.
I know that changing is harder than puting the blame on the system. But we are the system.
So seeking individuation is taking responsibility and part to one environement. -

It's an actual word b, you can google it like I did. I was thinking the same thing but they are not the same, very deceiving as they contain the same root.
