I never saw or heard the appeal of The Beetles.. -
The Beatles are pretty amazing my dude. They changed the face of pop music...well ? , music in general....back in the 60's. What's great about them is that they grew and evolved as a band and experimented with different sounds and inserted different noises on tracks to separate themselves from the rest. They pretty much invented the "concept album". When thinking of The Beatles, the majority of folk think of them as the 4 innocent mop-top members that made simple & catchy pop/love songs (which is what first made them famous) but as the years went on and they began getting into drugs (Bob Dylan 1st introduced them to weed...then they started messing with LSD, Paul was off coke for a while, John began snorting Heroin, etc), they incorporated different sounds and pretty much set the bar for commercialized music. The stuff they made in '67-'70 sounds nothing like the music they made from '63-'66. I know when listening back to their stuff some of it sounds outdated so I can understand why someone doesn't understand the appeal or the praise they receive but bottom line is that if you can put yourself into how the times were back in the 60's and feel/see/understand the emotions they put into their songs, then you can begin to appreciate their music. Eventually, each member's ego's went through the roof and they started to beef with eachother so they split in 1970, pursued solo careers, Lennon was clapped in December of 1980 & Harrison passed away in 2001. -
