Xbox One Release Date to be Announced Today?

The Xbox One release date could be announced today, if UK retailers are to be believed.

A number of GAME stores along with its Xbox specialist shop and ShopTo have all tweeted that Microsoft will announce the release date of its upcoming console later today.

We know for certain that the Xbox One is down to release in North America and Europe sometime in November, but exactly when is yet to be revealed. During its Gamescom press conference, Sony confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will be available on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.

We're reached out to Microsoft to see if the rumours are true, so be sure to check back to IGN later to see if we've finally been put out of our misery.

    Official date is now Nov 22. One week later than PS4 in US but one week earlier than PS4 in Europe.

    Xbox One is Now in 'Full Production' With an Improved CPU

    The upcoming release will be Microsoft's biggest console launch by a "wide margin."

    Xbox chief marketing officer Yusuf Mehdi has confirmed the Xbox One is now in 'full production' with a last-minute CPU boost.

    Speaking at the Citi Global Technology Conference, Mehdi revealed production is on track for a November launch and the console's CPU has been improved from 1.6 GHz to 1.75 GHz. As reported by GeekWire, Mehdi said the upcoming release of the Xbox One will be the biggest Microsoft has undertaken by a "wide margin" in terms of units shipped at launch.

    The news comes roughly a month after Microsoft confirmed the Xbox One's GPU clock speed has been increased from 800 MHz to 853.

    Assuming that they wanted to get some shine & didn't want to be second fiddle once the PS4 dropped!!!

    I know damn well every gamestop, wal mart, best buy, target, etc is gonna look like a worldstar hip hop video waiting to happen & the fact that it comes out the day before thanksgiving that's not helping it's cause!!!

    Alright I'll regardless it still comes out on Black Friday. Matter of fact ? that I'm going to the nearest best buy & taping everything I see, people are gonna be on some jingle all the way type ? !!!
