A Halo designer spoke out against female character design in MGS V.
In a string of recent tweets, a designer at Halo developer 343 Studios called the design of a prominent female character in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain "disgusting."
"Our industry should know better than this," David Ellis, designer at 343 said. "...Industry full of man babies."
Ellis' complaints were in response to an image of a specific character called Quiet, a sniper character revealed at E3 who will play a prominent role in The Phantom Pain. This reveal followed a series of tweets by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, in which he said that he encouraged art director Yoji Shinkawa to make characters appear more "? ."
Kojima has since contextualized his comments, saying "? " wasn't the right word, and that he meant more along the lines of "sexy." Check out the image in question below. Do you agree? Is Quiet's revealing design too much?

Then he'll be like "but what about The Boss? there was a strong a female character who had presence and was fully clothed for most of the game." and the nerds will retaliate with "no she was nothing but a stupid ? until she unzipped her body suit and showed us her scarred up tiddies."
On the one hand I do agree that the objectification of females & blatant misogyny in video games and a great deal of their fanbase is pretty ? unreal at points. For example look at that woman that got dragged through the coals for just giving her opinion on such matters regarding that Dragon Crown game and it's hot air balloon breasted characters.
That backlash she got was the quintessential example of how ignorant and juvenile a lot of these dorito eating basement dwelling neckbeards really are. The fact that her cause got funded by sensible folks after they saw the unnecessarily toxic reaction from those walking stereotypes towards a simple opinion that logically critiqued their "oh so precious" gaming industry said it all.
On the other hand I also feel this guy should stop being a ? and realize that sex sells & to stop being a hypocrite because I'm sure he already knows that. After all if he was so much about this cause then why bother working on a game franchise that has a central character with nearly exposed ? and foxy curves?
I mean she's a freaking hologram. She doesn't even have to look like a humanoid or like anything at all. She could be a cloud of static and still serve the same purpose. Talk about the ? calling the kettle black. -

Yeah. Regardless of what you think of her opinion it's pretty ? ? and uncalled for to photoshop her getting ? and create flash games where you beat her face to a pulp. All because she had an opinion that disagrees with yours.
What that shows is that most video game fans are immature man children incapable of ever thinking rationally and properly debating opposing views. Instead they have to resort to being one track minded bullies who can't hold their own in an argument without taking blatantly cheap shots and saying a whole lot of nothing at all. All that does is prove the detractors of the video game industry right.

Yeah, I agree with this 110%. All the supposed harassment and abuse she received, mainly on the internet for her opinion was unnecessary and childish (although she was clever enough to use it to gain more funding for her ? videos, a lot of which I wouldn't be surprised if she pocketed) but I just don't buy her and her "cause". I haven't seen all of her videos but what I have seen from her is just speculative, nitpicky and laughably refutable ? .

Yoji has been Kojima's art guy since the beginning. He's designed everybody for MGS. This is probably the sluttiest character design they've made, but I don't think it's just for the sake of fan service. If this is what Kojima okayed, it must be relevant to her part in this game. Let them boys cook. -

The character designs of the women in the Metal Gear Solid series have always been dodgy as ? and the design for Quiet just come across as lazy, objectifying and a bit daft. Compare with the male characters in the MGS5 trailers who all seem to be wearing the attire to suit their environment and circumstance with what is supposed to be a bad ass sniper dressed like a stripper, but then the sexualisation of the characters has always been rampant in the series and it has always ran on both sides (though you can argue which side it has fallen most heavily on).
Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa do seem like massive pervs, but it just seems redundant complaining about the MGS series now when they've been getting away with this ? since 1998. -
