Ubisoft's open-world game Watch Dogs has been pushed back to spring of 2014, the company just announced on their blog.
Our ambition from the start with Watch_Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014.

We know a lot of you are probably wondering ‘why now?’ We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. We thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the way you respond on the web, at events, press conferences and during other opportunities we have to interact. Your passion is what drives us.

We can’t wait to see you in Chicago next Spring. We are confident you’ll love this game as much as we love working on it.

    Oh well...

I checked amazon and they have the release date for June 30th of next yr. Summertime release don't matter to me either way. Smart business move with GTA V still selling, Arkham Origins dropping next Friday, & WWE 2K14/AC: Black Flag coming out 4 days after that. Not to mention XB1 & PS3 right around the corner.

Bottomline, the 2013 holiday season for the gaming industry is stacked with releases. Ubisoft made the right move by delaying Watch Dogs imo. For me WWE 2K14 is probably gone be the last game I buy this year unless, it's some serious deals for Black Friday this year.

I'm ? because I was looking forward to this.

Can't blame them though. They would be competing with themselves dropping AC4 in the same window.

Actually, AC IV don't drop until the 29th. Watch Dogs was suppose to drop on Nov. 19th. That's like a 3 week spread from release dates.

I can't see them moving it all the way to Q2 2014 just because of GTA 5. Maybe Jan or Feb, but not April - June like they did.

Agreed ....... they already knew GTA's release date before they announced this. Don't think anybody seriously expected to compete with GTA. Either the game is really not finished, or they spreading out their own release windows and letting AC4 take the holiday season as this is their annual release time.

bottom line. They saw where GTA 5 shined and said we need to add some of that ? to our game. Same thing NBA Live 14 about to go through
