Hello Ladies is an American comedy television series created by Stephen Merchant, Lee Eisenberg, and Gene Stupnitsky, and starring Merchant as an Englishman who looks for love in modern Los Angeles.[1] The series premiered on the American network HBO on September 29, 2013.[1]
Hello Ladies was adapted from Merchant's stand-up show of the same name. Merchant's frequent partner, Ricky Gervais is not involved in any part of the show which was instead written by Merchant, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.
I said ? it n finally gave this a watch last nite. Went into it not really expectin much. but got damn, this ? is hella funny. Im sure its not for everybody. the main dude is jus a goof ball lame, who spends every episode tryin to get some ? . while in actuality the best girl for him is right under his nose (lives in his guest house). real solid lol comedy in this imo.
anyone else gave it a watch?

i can understand if you guys aren't accustomed to Stephen Merchant's type of comedy you'll find this funny but as someone who's seen a lot of his material its kind of annoying that this show is just a continuation of the same ? he's been doing for years.being an ? who puts himself in cringe worthy situations (that's the basis for virtually every scene) and always making himself look like a ? .
it has its moments but i'll be surprised if it lasts beyond a series or two because you can't make a show as one dimensional as this. -
Merchant is funny as ? nh.
He likes his comedy to be deadpan, or 'slow'. I'm not sure if the American public will take to him -

Dont be that guy
That guy?
Its true though, isn't it?
When the US Office started, it was more or less a clone of the English one. It didn't become a success until it got a lot more, errrrm, what's the word... -

It works for Larry David

I haven't seen enough of curb your enthusiasm to form a proper judgement, but David came across as a grouchy buffoon who didn't realise he was creating awkward situations around him and then trying to worm his way out of them when he could.every now and again you'd feel sorry for him, well at least I did.
merchant just makes himself unlikeable without any redeeming features, show is 4 episodes in and his character hasn't really done anything that shows he's a decent guy. -
I'm going to peep it. I watched a few clips on youtube:

lmao @ the last episode.
this dude is a gotdamn fool. -
It's my favorite comedy show right now
I see it as the brother show to Girls -
Stuart snitched on the homies
I damn near despised him in this episode. Total poser. -
Just watched the first 2 episodes. Mad jokes but hard to watch at some points my dude is struggling lol.
-
He was tears inducing hilarious on Extras.
Maybe my expectations were to high, but I don't really find this funny. It's like key&peels as far as I chuckle here and there, but nothing memorable. And you can see the ? ups coming a mile away. -
i like..it has its moments; but every ending is pretty predictable
-
? ! Stuart toke sooo many L's in that weddin episode.
? was cringe worthy funny.
LMAO @ arguing with a bride and groom the day of the weddin cuz of where u are seated. then switchin the place cards around. then getting caught. ? had me in tears. lol
dead @ at chillin @ the hotel room with a broad, bout to sex. then a another dude knocks on the door and comes in. -
I think so
-
I cheer for Stuart
I really do
But dude ? himself over too much
One person I really want to have a rough time is Amelia .
She is the epitome of a bytch. -
Wade is such a simp
The cold bytch don't want you -
season finale was funny.
lmao @ Stuart's employee/friend dude. lol @ when he came runnin up behind Stuart when Stuart ran up on Glenn. that ? is so wierd. He acts almost like Stuart's pet.
lol @ wheel chair dude.
wheel chair dude: "Stuart?!"
Stuart: "What?!"
wheel chair dude: "Oh good, I thought you were leavin me."
Stuart: "I am!" as he drives off. lol
this show kinda reminds me of curb your enthusiasm tho. how he gets himself into all these random everyday situations. that always seem to get ? up. -
That can't be the finale
It was only like 6 episodes
Or I started watchin late -
it was 8. started the same time as eastbound and down.
-
I liked it. Binge watched it yesterday and today. The Long Beach episode was really funny. The construction crew was hilarious.
Richard is such a ? sometimes, but in the end when he finally had the chance to swim naked with that model broad... he goes home to comfort his friend.
Who was the ? black dude Armand? I swear I seen that dude elsewhere but I can't remember. -
Yea, ? funny. More ppl need to give it a chance.
My fav episodes were the wedding, the pool party and the dinner. -
The dinner slayedhow u gonna change the order 3 times and put it on the waiter
