The Weinstein Company is looking to grow its brand with an aggressive push to television.
The New York Times reports that brothers Harvey and Bob Weinstein wish to test whether or not they can increase their success on the small screen. This push will tentatively include more than half a dozen new scripted series.
Proposed series include the previously announced MTV "Scream" series, ancient Egyptian detective drama Book of the Dead, martial arts adventure series Marco Polo -- presumably based on the Italian merchant's journeys throughout Asia -- and a 10-episode 10 Commandments series, which may feature a different director -- including Lee Daniels, Madonna, and Wes Craven, among others -- overseeing each Commandment-based episode. They are also looking at a potential 10-part TV version of The Mist, inspired by the Frank Darabont-directed film, based on Stephen King's story.
While many other scripted and non-scripted projects are in the works, the one that will probably intrigue IGN readers the most is the newly-announced Sin City TV series. Though not much is yet known about the potential series, the Weinsteins hope it will "quickly follow" next year's August release of Sin City: A Dame to Die For. Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, directors of both Sin City movies, appear to be involved with the TV show, as well.

did you read the article? it said the movie "a dame to die for" will be released next summer.
a Tv show sounds interesting, with enough violence and well done this could be great.
also book of the dead sounds cool. -
The Mist was a dope flick. I'd watch a show if it had the same vibe.
